...decided to upgrade first. Told yumex to upgrade everything. When I went to reboot the VG with / on it is not seen by the kernel. (root partition is LVM on top of RAID 1). If I go back to the old kernel everything boots fine. On the new kernel only the VG on sdc is seen by LVM. 1. How do I persuade the new kernel to notice the VG with my root partition on it. 2. Ok do not know what is causing this problem and would appreciate some help in tracking down the cause. FreeBSD 4.7 System runs fine for maybe a week and then all networking stops - without warning. Is there any other mechanism than using passwd files with md5-hashed passwords created by dovecotpw that will support cram-md5 authentication? Has anyone created setups where the passwd databases reside in the individual users home directories? Is it possible to persuade dovecotpw to update the passwd databases automatically.
