[LLVMdev] Vector LLVM extension v.s. DirectX Shaders
...as frequent
as 3D programs do. Almost each 3D instruction requires to permuate its
operands. For example:
// Each register is a 4-component vector
// the names of the components are x, y, z, w
add r0.xy, r1.zxyw, r2.yyyy
The components of r1 and r2 and permuted before the addition, but the
permeation result is _not_ written backed to r1 and r2. 'zxyw' and
'yyyy' are the permutation patterns (they are called 'swizzle').
'xy' is called the write mask. The result is written to only x and y
component of r0. z and w are left untouched.

Dovecot 1.2.12 maildir format using :LAYOUT=fs (my Mail dir came from KDE)
I can't remember the permissions of the /Mail/ directory because I haven't
been concerned with it too much until now. I think they were user:user or
user:mail. Now a new mail ends up 600 root:mail. (in alternate directories)
When I start my mutt client to the imap server it gets an error for any folder

Seeking Rails Developers in Bay Area (Marin County)
Hi There,
We have a couple open positions for Rails developers in Marin County,
just across from Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. For a
variety of reasons, we''d prefer folks from a Java background, but
mostly we need smart, agreeable, disciplined, and self-directed.
Here''s the full job description. Please use the address at the end

Yup. This is a matter of folding the permute into the add instruction as
part of instruction selection.

Hi Rafael,
Against better judgement, and for what it's worth, here's my view.
We have had heated technical discussions in the past and now that you
leave, I

Ogg Vorbis is mentioned in CNET's MP3 Insider newsletter.
I'm sending this article and another one that takes more

There is a widespread illusion that the MP3 file format is not a

What unmitigated bullshit. Your attempt at logic is laughable. You hold up
threadbare stereotypes as the norm, when in reality they are little more
than characters straight out of Central Casting. The "genius hermit who
can't associate with people" is dumb and false. It's meant to excuse
behavior that is unacceptable, when in reality a person who cannot interact
with people is

(Here follows the same email but hopefully properly formatted, with each
newline doubled to two as the list engine seems to need it, and mangled to 80
characters line width.)
Non-meritocratic technology and academic projects will be damned.
This is a general response to Renato's response to Rafael's post, and also to
the media discussion sparked by this thread at

Hello everyone. Please keep discussion civil and productive.
I’d suggest moving general discussions of social behavior and norms off the llvm-dev list. These discussions are generally quite off topic and draw more heat than light. I’d prefer it if we all just move on.
I obviously do not know who “unnamed poster” is, but I am also specifically concerned about people who are not LLVM
