HEAD and 2.0.4b - interworking?
Did I understand from something Jeremy said recently that a recommended mode of operation for those wishing to try the full PDC support might be: 1. all file servers running production version (currently 2.0.4b) 2. single PDC machine running HEAD branch in order to get the stability and performance of the production version while still being able to use the latest PDC functionality? Is it possible to register without sending the password
Dear Philipp; Kindly find the part of the configuration as below: [general] allow=all disallow is comment by ( ; ). [bilal_sip] type=friend context=internal host=dynamic canreinvite=no dtmfmode=rfc2833 So where is the problem? The endpoint does not register and nothing appear on trace level 3. And the amazing thing that if the endpoint send wrong username (for example: bilal_sip100) then it

Problem Configuring 3.0.1 on Solaris

I know its not samba fault, but any advise on that setup? and if the link is down, as computers peridically changed their trust account password, what will happen if they can't do that ? They'll keep their current password, but can they keep it a long time without problem in user authentication or anything else ? -- J?r?me

[PATCH 9/10] Vmi timer update.patch
Convert VMI timer to use clock events, making it properly able to use the NO_HZ infrastructure. On UP systems, with no local APIC, we just continue to route these events through the PIT. On systems with a local APIC, or SMP, we provide a single source interrupt chip which creates the local timer IRQ. It actually gets delivered by the APIC hardware, but we don't want to use the same local

Removing VMI kernel support from 2.6.37
Hi Peter, Removal of VMI(VMware's para-virtualization technique) is scheduled for 2.6.37, I was wondering what would be the right time frame for submitting a patch which does that. Does the x86-tip tree have any next branch where we can park this patch ? Below is the patch for your reference which just removes VMI specific bits, applies on top of x86-tip. There is also an opportunity to

[RFC PATCH 00/35] Xen i386 paravirtualization support
Unlike full virtualization in which the virtual machine provides the same platform interface as running natively on the hardware, paravirtualization requires modification to the guest operating system to work with the platform interface provided by the hypervisor. Xen was designed with performance in mind. Calls to the hypervisor are minimized, batched if necessary, and non-critical codepaths
