ArgumentError in "is a pending example" - block not supplied
We have a few unfinished examples in our code of the form
it "should and does do something" do
# stuff
end
it "should do something someday"
it "should and does do something else" do
# more stuff
end
Now since I upgraded my gem to rspec 1.8 today, the empty example is
failing with the error ArgumentError in "should do something someday":

methods package
...it's going ok, but not entirely.
1. The biggest issue is lack of documentation. The online help pages have
not been a help; they keep saying it's "as found in the green book - almost".
I've looked for the package on CRAN in the hopes for more there, but can't
find it. Perchance there is something obvious that I am missing?
2. The changes are small but numerous. The current one that has me puzzled
is a method for addition:
setMethod(Ops, signature=c('numeric', 'bdsmatrix'), ....
Let xmat be ordinary and bmat be a bdsmatrix. In the old code "xm...

Out of interest, did you, perchance, try running an ssh-keygen -l on a
DSA-infested file?
(I added a bit of extra IDS to our monitoring that collects info on the
allowed user pubkeys by running that command on all authorized_keys*
files found on the target machine. Yes, yes, I should probably make that
scanner DELETE all DSA pub...

Re: Drawing problem in Wine 1.3.0
Hi, I can confirm this bug on openSUSE 11.3 and Ubuntu 10.10 with Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, using anything newer than Wine 1.0. It renders my most important programs totally useless. Is there a workaround for this perchance?
Thanks!

Do I need Winbind?
With a recent upgrade to Centos 4.6 my system's Samba was also upgraded
to 3.0.25b. But now I get a series of
auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_administrators(792) and
auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_users(758) errors every day.
As I understand it winbind allows users to be logged in as Linux users
when they log in as Windows users. But since I don't want them to have

Compile without GSSAPI disables SSL?
Perchance this is something unique to Red Hat -- I'm compiling/running
1.0rc?? on a CentOS 4 machine (i386), building RPMs and trimming down
things I don't need (SQL e.g.).
If I compile with the flag --with-gssapi, the resulting dovecot-auth
binary links to libcrypto and libssl, the standard Open...

German umlaut in xlab
Dear all,
which font do I have to choose to use German umlauts at x/ylab in plot? Do I
have to change Rdevga; and how? Or should I use these Hershey vectors?
I looked quite a long time for a solution, which should be easy, so I
thought I'd better ask here.
Maybe some other people have already solved this problem.

graphic device MetaPost
Hi all,
By default, MetaPost passes all text through TeX. This has the
advantage of allowing essentially any TeX symbols in titles and labels.
It give us, who use the multibyte character in ordinary communication,
much convenience. Gnuplot has fulfilled this function, and it give me a
deep impression for I could use Chinese character in plots with a minor
modification to the MetaPost file.

AR db adapter for a RDF database (ATT: DHH)
Hi people,
As I stated in a earlier message, I am using Rails on my masters degree
and soon I will have to port my application from a relational database
(MySql) to a RDF semantic database called Sesame.
At first, I thought that I could get away with most of the porting only
by writing a decent database adapter, but then, examining AR closer, I
could see that it has some strong dependencies

HooDaHek 0.6 Released
HooDaHek 0.6 has been released.
So soon, you say? Well, the best laid plans of mice and men...
Steven BerkHolz is a pretty sharp stick and said to me, "Why don't you
have HooDaHek change the CallerID when it looks up the name in the
database on an incoming call?" Much head smacketh ensued, and as I made
that change for Steven, I noticed that I had the way wrong version of

Not sure whether anything should be done with it, but I noticed so
thought I'd mention: if you pass ssh-keygen -R a known_hosts file with
DSA sigs, you get "invalid line" warnings.

barplots with no lines around each bar
Hi,
I want to do a barplot with no black lines drawn around each bar and no
space between each bar. I can do the nospace bit but keep getting black
line around each bar no matter what I try.
Ie. for a red bar I want a red border, for a yellow bar a yellow border
and so on. I've tried everything I can think of but no luck. Any
suggestions? At the moment I'm using R 5.1 under Redhat Linux

How to change the GUI language option
Hi,
I installed R from one of the mirror sites (actually UK mirror site).
Once installed the interface is in German. Can you please suggest how to
change the R interface from German to English?
Thanking you and looking forward to your reply.

vector name
I have got a list named "filtered", I would like to construct alist named
"fdata" as following:
fdata <- cbind(matrix(unlist(filtered),ncol=28), myregime)
If I try names(filtered), it gives all the correct name for each vector, but
if I try names(fdata), it appears "filtered[[1]]" "filtered[[2]]" ...,
How can I keep the name in "fdata"?
