merge counts from table()
...rsome to carry all the values around when all I care about are the counts. The actual situation has about a billion counts over ~150 categories. I know there's got to be a number of ways of doing things (plyr comes to mind), but I can't seem to find how to accomplish it. Thanks, Fran?ois Pepin

N Hosts on an Untrusted LAN in Full Mesh?
...in rfc-1918 space that need to talk to each other. And lets also say that I do not trust the network they are on. Is there a way I can configure tinc on all N hosts to use the VPN to each other in a full-mesh without specifying each individual connection on each host? R crashing on linux
Hi everyone, I've had R crashing on rather repeatedly and I'd like to know if there's anything to be done with it. This is with R 2.3.0. That computer does not have R 2.4 installed on it. This is a Linux FC4 on 64bit processor. How to reproduce it: 1- ssh to server with X forwarding. 2- start R in a screen. 3- violently kill ssh on the client machine (in my case this is achieved by

ps or pdf
Hi everyone, I have been making a fair amount of figures in R recently that I've been touching up with Illustrator and I've found a difference between pdf and ps files and I was wondering if someone could enlighten me about them. While the figures look the same, the ps version tends to have truncated strings. The last character of short strings tends to be on a string of its own, located
