Bad performance on samba server
I have installed a samba server (1.9.17p4 Linux 2.0.36 from redhat 5.0) on a dual pentiumII 350 64Mram with two ultra wide scsi disk drives on a 100Mbit port of a 16x10Mbit + 2x100Mbit Allied Telesyn switch .The copying operations work at quite same speed even I copy from Samba server or a Win9x Station if I try to open a Word doc from server it is much, much slower ( aprox 20 times sl...

Still struggling with performance issues
It''s now been over a week, and we are nearly at wits end trying to track down our performance issues here. We now have a P3/667 (single CPU! SMP was definitely the source of previous lockups) with 256Mb RAM. It is running along with a load avg of less than 0.1 even at peak times. Max ip_conntrack is around 1500-2000. how do i get rid of this blasted echo !!!
Any help on this would be great I have 2 TDM400P's, 2 asterisk servers (running on powerful boxes with FC1 and * v CVS 1.0.02), and 4 analogue PSTN lines from BT and whatever I do, I cannot get rid of this damn local echo. Ive tried setting the echoTraining, echoCancel (in phone.conf and Zapata.conf) , echocancelwhenbridged to every possible combination , Ive even tried running the fxotune
