Possible bug in handling of HTML comments
...for me, is that I am experimenting with using HTML comments as a means to pass text that should be ignored by MultiMarkdown (e.g. to allow raw LaTeX, etc). But some of the comments *are* being processed, which screws them up. Thanks for any insight, and ideas on how to fix this! Fletcher Penney -- Fletcher T. congratulations to fletcher penney
big congratulations to fletcher penney on his release of "multimarkdown composer". at #21-paid when i purchased it just now. i'd say $9.99 will be best in the long-term -- don't listen to people who say more -- but $7.99 is the _right_ introductory price. word-of-mouth will be what sells this pup, so you want it to...

rspec-puppet not working
I''m trying to get rspec-puppet working and have run into a problem. I have a VM running ubuntu lucid, have installed rubygems 1.3.5 from the apt package and have install rspec-puppet (and other required gems), and rake, using gem install. I''ve run rspec-puppet-init in the module I want to test, and have created a very basic spec file for one of the classes in my module.

puppetlabs-ntp template discussion
Hi guys, As I mentioned in a previous email I''ve refactored ntp and released a 1.0.0 release candidate. There''s one outstanding "flaw" remaining that''s bothering me and I wanted to solicit opinions on the list. We currently maintain a template per distribution that is close to the stock distribution provided ntp configuration. This leads to massive

Searchable archives of Markdown discussion list still available?
...own text, but didn't have much luck. IIRC, the list never had a searchable web interface, but older posts were available on a Google search. This seems not to be the case any more. Can anyone recommend a good way to search the archives of this list? Thanks! Fletcher -- Fletcher T. Possible bug in Markdown.pl with `<<` handling
...lt;p>As is &lt;&lt; this>>/.</p> The `&;t;<` causes problems with XSLT. I suppose one could look for series of `<`'s and convert them all to `&lt;`. Network interfaces (and deleting them)
I''m in a bit of a pickle and I can''t work out a safe way to do something. I currently have a define called ip that I use to define network interfaces. The built in method didn''t seem to work, so I designed this to write out the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg- ethX file. However, I started thinking about what if I decide to define an eth0:0 for some purpose, and

Universal syntax for Markdown
Hi, because of the great editor "Writer" from Information Architects I've learned about Markdown and I love it. But it's very confusing, that there are so many standards with different features: classical Markdown, Markdown Extra, MultiMarkdown. I think for most users and the spreading of Markdown it would be nice, to have only one syntax. And this universal syntax should have

attribute blocks for definition lists
Hello, As I am using markdown to write documentation, I am often tempted to make links to terms in definition lists. Since this is not possible for now (at least in php markdown extra), I was wondering if this could be a common addition in major implementation supporting definition lists. the syntax would be term {#id} : definition This syntax tries to follows current convention and

Two, it clears up the potential problem listed by Fletcher regarding tags. by Christoph Freitag Affiliation: XYZ by Fletcher T. Mac markdown editor that saves as .txt
Hi all, I'm a newer user of markdown & MultiMarkdown, and I'm looking for the perfect setup of software for my Mac and my Android phone. I'd like to have my drafts editable from both. What I want is an attractive Mac app for writing (primarily blog posts and emails) that saves its files as .txt . Most of them save as .md or .markdown instead, and since there doesn't seem to

Trouble with parentheses in Markdown hyperlinks
How can we improve URL detection in Markdown? I posted a question on Stack Overflow and happened to click a URL in my post. To my surprise, it wasn't functional, and it took three different, nonintuitive manipulations before I achieved a functional URL. Stack Overflow says "not my problem", so I'm deferring to Markdown itself. Here's a

I'm currently attempting to write a spec for parsing Markdown Extra, and since one goal is to minimize the differences in output between implementations, I've made a tool allowing me to compare who does what for any given input. I hope this can also facilitate future discussions about the syntax. So here's Babelmark, a testbed for various Markdown implementations were you
