RE: LOA for CFA . . work up "pencil copy"
David,
I guess I'm a little confused here. Are you asking me to provide a "pencil
copy" of an LOA for your review? I don't understand why you need an LOA
from us. We need an LOA from you to order circuits that will be billed to
us that will be attached to your CFA. It was also my understanding that you
had an LOA ready to be given to us, which had already been reviewed by

splitting dataframe, assign to new dataframe, add new rows to new dataframe
Hi, all,
My objective is to split a dataframe named "cmbine" according to the value of "classes". After the split, I will take the first instance from each class and bin them into a new dataframe, "df1". In the 2nd iteration, I will take the 2nd available instance and bin them into another new dataframe, "df2".

Not new: I can remember seeing DEC engineers cleaning up the contacts
on memory boards for a VAX 11/782 with a pencil eraser c.1985. It's
still a pretty standard first fix to reseat a card or connector.

[LLVMdev] [GSoC] Flang's end of GSoC report
Hi everyone!
Today is the official "pencils down" day for GSoC and I wrote a report
describing what results I've achieved since my last report in July:

Thanks for this GSoC LLVM!

Hiccup on streaming
Hi all, this is my first time on this list.
I have a very basic icecast2 server installed from Ubuntu repository.
It's running on a linux Ubuntu Studio 12.04 LTS with an Athlon 64 X2 5200+.
This linux box is at a Community FM Radio Station.
We installed a radio automatization software called "Radit".
Radit is developed by a spanish guy and runs very well. It's open source

I suspect that the gold layer on edge connectors 30-odd years ago was
a lot thicker than on modern cards. We are talking contacts on 0.1"
spacing not some modern 1/10 of a knat's whisker. (Off topic) I also
remember seeing engineers determine which memory chip was at fault and
replacing the chip using a soldering iron. Try that on a DIMM!

Inheritance of ACLs with Samba
Hello dear list members
I am not an experienced user of Samba, so I can be committing some basic
mistake, but it seems to me that there is something wrong with the way
Samba propagates ACLs. I tried versions 3.0.32 and 3.2.4 and the result
is the same. This happens with "map acl inherit = yes" on smb.conf.
I have a directory (dir) with the following ACLs:

how should I go for Xen 4.0.1 with a non pv-ops Dom0 kernel
Hi,
I recently compiled a Xen-4.0.1 and pv-ops Dom0 2.6.32.27 kernel from
JF''s tree.Where my hypervisor could not boot and unfortunately the
system is rebooting so frequently that I am not able
to note down the error messages on a paper and pencil. So now I am
planning to go for a non pv-ops Dom0.I am not clear as what should be
the approach?
I have been Googling it every now and then and

Integration in R
Dear all,
It has been ages since I studied integration in college. Right now I
try to recover all this kind of knowledge and then try to understand how
integration works.
Thus I am doing some first 'experiments' and I would like to request your help and comments.
I have the function:
p2<-function(x){0.5*(3*x^2-1)}
# I found the square of p2 by using some pencil and

Solving Yis[i] = a*cos((2*pi/T)*(times[i] - Tau)) + ...
Hi everybody,
I am reading the Lomb paper (Lomb, 1976) and I found an interesting
equation, and I wish to resolve it using R. I am wondering if anybody has a
hint. The equation is:
Yis[i] = a*cos((2*pi/T)*(Times[i] - Tau)) + b*sin((2*pi/T)*(Times[i] -
Tau)) ... (1)
Where T and Tau are constants. I know the "Times" and "Tis" values (in fact
these values come from a Time

Platinum Blu-Ray Defeat the World
I ordered the Limited Edition Diamond Collector's Set,because I'm a big Disney dvd (http://www.seriesonsale.com/DVDs/Walt-Disney-s-100-Years-Of-Magic-164-Discs-DVD-Box-Set-24.html)fan. I was blown away by how nice the set really is. The box is lined in velvet with gold embossments. The lithographs are of pencil animation, so you get to see all of the animator's original pencil lines.

Fwd: Re: rsyncd.conf chroot yes problem with symlink-ing
Ok it's now Solved !
In spite of trying all day long to figure it out what's wrong in my sintax
i could find, ...using a pencile and a pice of paper, combining all
commands parameters invoked so far and, came to the conclusion that -L does
not stand with -l , think that i couldn't find in any docs or faq so far.
Now, symlinks are being copied without a trouble.

Covariance calculation gives different answer than Excel (PR#13720)
Full_Name: Amos Waterland
Version: 2.8.1
OS: Ubuntu Linux
Submission from: (NULL) (68.175.8.163)
I calculated the covariance for a small data set as follows:
X <- c(1,2,3,4)
Y <- c(3,3,4,3)
cov(X,Y)
[1] 0.1666667
But when doing the computation with pencil and paper I get:
((-1.5)*(-0.25) + (-0.5)*(-0.25) + (0.5)*(0.75) + (1.5)*(-0.25))/4
[1] 0.125
Microsoft Excel 2003 covar() also

Simple tree
Hi,
I'm looking for an "easy" way to setup a decision tree.
This is *not* any kind of regression, but a very simple DAG with probability on each edge and a value at each node. I just need a way to input the graph and calculate the expected value at each end node. The whole thing could be done with a calculator and pencil, but it would be nice to have everything in R.
I can't
