memory leak?
...slower. I'm using wine-20020122, but the same happens with cvs version from friday. Compiled on redhat 7.2 with all errata applied with enable-dll, enable-opengl and with-x configure options. Any ideas? With 256mb of ram the machine starts trashing only after a couple of minutes ... -- Jure Pecar

hm ...
...ode, i have s.m.a.r.t running and nothing from it in the logs ... Well, i'm lucky this is just my personal workstation. Is there some chance that what I'm expiriencing is only a software error? If so, I might compile my next kernel with jbd debugging on. (currently 2.4.17pre8) -- Jure Pecar Unfortunatly, SMTP email is anything but a small set of problems. Quite the opposite: it's a tarpit of bureaucratic standards committees, arrogant implementors, impatient administrators and whiny end-users.

cs & gfs
...I was informed[1] that gfs & rhcs packages are in the works but that there are some problems with the code. What are these problems? Can we do anything to help test / solve them? gfs performance
...no reply on redhat cluster list, I'm trying here ... I'm testing a rhcs4 cluster with gfs. I noticed some poor performance while tarring data from a gfs volume to a local disk from both nodes at the same time, so I deceided to have a closer look. Here are the bonnie++ results: http://jure.pecar.org/gfs/ I don't know what to think of these ... but I doubt it's normal for performance to go down by an order of magnitude when both nodes are doing some i/o to the shared file system ... I'd like to see some numbers from other gfs systems to see if this is normal and if it is not,...

ext2online with 1k blocks not working
...ot 2475 ... checking for group block NNNN in Bond found 2218 not 2474 at 3513[168] ext2online: unable to resize /dev/cciss/c0d0p3 And exit error code is 3. I verified on a test system that ext2online works perfectly well in same situation with 4k blocks. Any ideas? -- Jure Pe?ar http://jure.pecar.org

shared storage: rw on one node and ro on second node
...oxen. I want to use ext3 in this setup, since i trust it the most. My question is: is this possible? How would the r/o node handle the metadata updates that the r/w node would be doing? If there is some fundamental problem, is any other fs currently capable of this? Thanks for answers, -- Jure Pecar

ext3 problems triggered by some weird files?
...ribe the very same oops on two differnet machines with different kernels. Oh, one of those boxen was running sendmail, so the problem is not postfix specific. I entered this into redhat bugzilla as #90938, more info there. If there's anyone willing to help me figure this out ... -- Jure Pecar

mta/mda config
Hi all, I'm at the stage of planning our new mail system and am evaluating dovecot for it. For large mailstore setups, it makes sense to split maildirs across many directories. I see that setting default_mail_env to something like maildir:/var/imap/domain/%1d/%d/%1u/user/%u/ would create almost identical on-disk layout as multidomain cyrus setup. Now, as dovecot does not have its own

max journal size
...100MB with 1kb blocks or ~400MB with 4kb block. I wonder - why this limitation exists? Now that relatively cheap ssd devices exist (gigabyte iRam) that offer up to 4GB of space, it would be extremely useful to use whole capacity of such device for full data journaling. -- Jure Pe?ar http://jure.pecar.org

tg3 gigabit speed
...k If I force eth1 to 1000 with ethtool, I get no link and then it autonegotiates itself back to 100. I can't even get them to talk at gigabit speed if I connect both machines together with crossover cable! Am I doing something wrong or is this a hardware problem? -- Jure Pe?ar http://jure.pecar.org/

disabling console blanking ?
Hi! Some of my centos's servers (poweredge 850/ centos 4.3) are crashing for any reason, and so i wanna get screen (kernel) output afterward. Problem is when the server is crashed and the screen blanked, a keypress doesn't do anything at all. Here it is what i've tried _from a ssh session_ : - setterm -blank 0 and many combinations. - "noacpi" boot option ... Any ideas ?
