Ices2 socket error
Hello, recently I have tried to use Ices2 to encode my live (line-in) audio and I can't get rid of this error message: [2003-01-17 04:37:39] EROR stream/ices_instance_stream Failed initial connect to 147.32.127.199:8000 (Unknown error) I have checked all the settings on the server and in the ices-live.xml, but it's still the same. /dev/dsp and /dev/mixer seems to be set up correctly.

ambiguity in sample ices config files
...on is definitely misleading. I'm sure that the sample config file will be modified and documentation will be created as well, but Icecast is still in alpha... Programmers don't write documentation ;). We all have to wait. BTW, I'm impatient too :). winamp + application/ogg = doh
I am trying to pass an ogg stream through icecast and then from icecast through to winamp. I pass the ogg stream to icecast with the Content-Type = "application/x-ogg" however icecast serves the audio out with Content-Type = "application/ogg" unfortunately winamp seems to only accepts "application/x-ogg" am i missing something, or what's a guy to do? thanks!

ambiguity in sample ices config files
[please cc the answers to me, because I'm not on this list!] Hi there! Yesterday I downloaded the CVS version of icecast and ices. There are several example config files provided for ices in the conf/ directory. The ices-playlist.xml specifies encoding for one of the instances: <encode> <nominal-bitrate>64000</nominal-bitrate>

Stream pushing ?
Hi Guillaume, Last time I've tried, Icecast can only "pull" a stream from other Icecasts. And Karl's branch (I'm not sure about the trunk codeline as of today) can pull on demand, so only if you have connected listeners the stream is pulled from the source server, thus saving bandwidth (but who needs to save badwidth nowadays, huh? ;-). The functionality is called
