dhclient doing DISCOVER with bad IP checksum - bge
...er is refusing to answer the DISCOVER request, as it thinks the
IP checksum is wrong, which tcpdump also confirms. Other DHCP clients
are working fine on this network, so I do not believe it to be the
network, server or dhcpd.
Server is running a 2 Port Intel card - em driver.
Client is a Dell PE1750 with 2 onboard NIC's - bge driver.
I have tried turning off both RXCSUM and TXCSUM on both the client and
server machines with no luck. I also tried the second NIC on the server
with the same result.
This setup was working just a couple of weeks ago, and the only thing
that has changed is...

IO causing major performance issues
...riences are WRT systems becoming
unresponsive (unable to ssh in, etc) for brief periods of time when
a large amount of IO is being performed. It's really starting to
cause a problem for us. We're on Dell PowerEdge 1955 blades - but this same
issue has caused us problems on PE1950, PE1850, PE1750 servers.
We're running Centos 4.5 right now. I know Centos 5 includes ionice, more
io scheduler/elevator selections like deadlock/etc. Perhaps that would
fix this issue. We're running the latest PERC firmware.
The specific issue I'm referring to at this point is on a system running

UNDI - Rom-O-Matic -- A bit off topic..
...a Server is located on a different subnet from the PowerEdge 1650 data transfer fail's, Some of the files are corrupt after transfer.
However if the Samba Server is locater on the same subnet, it works just fine.
The customer has this same problem with several PE 1650, while other systems like PE1750 and 1850 has no problems.
Now to my questions:
- How does the UNDI work?
- I belive: the PXE boot code in the BIOS configures the NIC to be in "UNDI mode"?
- Does a Rom-O-Matic created Boot Floppy also set the NIC in "UNDI mode" as well? (If not, any other option?)...

time it locked up... but it doesn't really mean much to me. Anybody have
any ideas what might be causing this server lock up?

[amr] raid config went from RAID5 to RAID0 ?
I just noticed something very strange on one of our Dell PE1750 servers.
It is running FreeBSD 4-STABLE on dual CPU's with the embedded Dell Raid
controller (amr driver). Attached are 3 disks of 145GB. On a RAID5 logical
drive this gives me ~280GB storage.
Up until the last reboot (35 days ago) the 'amrcontrol' status utility
gave me:
Logical drive...
