full-fledge PDF editor for Linux
Hi all, Does anybody know of an editor that can do on Linux what Acrobat / Acrobat Pro can do on Mac/Windows? I have tried to use the PDF Import extension to the Open Office which appears barely functional - at least it is so slow as to be almost impractical. I have also tried pdfedit under Linux which seems to work fine but seems to have rather limited functionality. For instance, the capability to make bookmarks or to search through the whole document (as opposed to the current page) seems to be missing there. Any tips much appreciated. Cheers, Boris.

Adobereader on Centos7 crashes
...f this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html I spent a lot of time trying to solve this with other pdf viewers, including google-chrome and Foxit, and trickery with ps2pdf and Pdfedit. Nothing works. I installed Adobereader following this: https://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2010/install-adobe-acrobat-pdf-reader-on-fedora-centos-red-hat-rhel/ The signing of these forms is vital to my organization, so any help would be appreciated. Greetings, J.

...t. > > In Centos 7, poppler-utils RPM has pdfdetach and pdfunite utilities > which allow to manipulate pages in a pdf. That's great to know. Linux should have multiple ways to do one and the same thing. In a free world we shouldn't be dependent on just one solution. Indeed, pdfedit is another app for manipulating PDFs. Having skimmed through the docs on these and others mentioned in this thread, none of them can, in addition, rotate selected pages (i.e., turn them by 90, 180, or 270 degrees), plus select pages by the keywords "odd" and "even". The GI...

This is probably "overkill", but_it_just_works :-) Adobe Reader is only a "reader" as I assumed it would be. Some PDF readers can also fill in forms, do editing, etc., however not Adobe Reader. Another solution is to use a free online service...

PDF Reader/Editor for CentOS 5.7 (32 bit)?
I had, in the past, a .pdf reader that also permitted me to fill in some information, when I received a .pdf file. I have KPDF installed, but that seems to only have Reader capability. Trying to install xpdf, with yum, I get this dependency error from rpmforge: 1:xpdf-3.02-8.el5.rf.i386 from rpmforge has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: libXm.so.4 is needed by package
