Irix: PRNG initialization failed
Hello all, I tried OpenSSH versions 2.1.1p4, 2.2.0p1 and the latest snapshot briefly on 64-bit Irix 6.5.7f an 6.5.9m. Both times, no matter what I do, I'll get 'PRNG initialization failed -- exiting'. This happens with ssh-keygen (the keys aren't even generated yet, ssh binary etc.) It's clear that Irix etc. don't have a proper entropy pool like *BSD and Linux do, but

Linux 2.2 + borken mmap() round 1
The following is just a simple 'if ANON|SHARE is broken, disable compression'. We don't have time for fancy stuff until we have time for long term testing. I have one friend of mine testing this. Can I get a few other people to test. This is against --current, but maybe work against 3.3p1. Unsure. BTW.. those on NeXT platform (if you have autoreconf) should also test this. this

[PATCH] Next cleanup part 4 or 5 by now.=)
Changes: * Removed utimes() posix hack since scp.c moved to utimes() * Fixed waitpid() to be more proper. It was driving me nuts. * Made setsid() a #define in next-posix.h * Removed WCOREDUMP() from next-posix.h since we really don't support it and now #ifdef .. #else .. #endif around the single place it was used. * Fixed typecasting issue in sshd.c with sizeof() returning "long

OpenSSH and NeXT (Black hardware)
Anyone working on a port of OpenSSH to NeXT (I have a 3.3 Workstation at home). I started looking around and there are a few things that may need a bit of helping (NeXT version of GCC in the 3.3 days requires a bit more work to pass functions around as pointers and it looks like the compiler does not protect the header files from being recursively entered). I think the main thing would be to add

unrequired headers (looping affect in NeXT)
In bsd-login.[hc] and login.c seems to have #include <utmp.h> that are unneeded (and platforms with non-protected headers files trips on them.) Could I get a few people on different platforms remove them and see if they cause any compiling issues it would make my life easier (and less required #ifdef grabage). bsd-login.c:52:#include <utmp.h> bsd-login.h:7:#include <utmp.h>

OpenSSH on OpenStep 4.2 -- Mostly working!!! =)
I have an initial port of the SSH client. Only one known issue with it. sigaddset(), sigempty(), and sigprocmask() don't exist on NeXT without using libposix which I'm now avoiding (thanks, Garance A Drosehn) like the plague because it conflicts too much. Only thing this affects is the readpass.c file at this point. Which means if you ctrl-C out of the password prompt you mess up your

Can we get this as a replacement to the current putenv()? It's out of the OpenBSD source tree and is a complete replacement instead of a wrapper around setenv(). Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- #ifndef HAVE_SETENV /* ** Borrowed from OpenBSD 2.6. ttyslot(), forking and NeXT.
I'm surprise this is right on any machine. But I'll check my Suse 6.3 box here in a few hours. In bsd-login.c if you go down to the 'tty = ttyslot();' and insert a debug("LOGIN: ttyslot = %d",tty); then run the server in debug mode and log with a client. You'll see the ttyslot your using in the utmp file. Now.. The kicker. I can log into my NeXT box and I get

suggested bsd-setproctitle.c
Keven Steves, Can I suggest this minor change. To halt a bit of compiler grumble on BSD4.3 platforms. It's complaining about unsued variable "__progname". I wanted to check with you before committing it incase you had some other plans in mind (and I know how I hate when others break my code =). Thanks, - Ben --- ../openssh/bsd-setproctitle.c Wed Oct 18 08:11:44 2000 +++
