OK we do all the steps in my previous missive and everything looks fine, landscape, collating the whole works. This is on a Laserjet 4000 with the latest PCL6 driver. The firm still has a good number of Laserjet 4s so we dutifully load up the latest PCL5E driver for the 4 and connect to the 4 on a couple of workstations. Everything goes to hell. Landscpae, collating and all other problems re-appear. So! Is it having a combination of PCL5 and 6, Version-3 and Version-2 drivers on the server or what? Hi All, I have problem counting pages on LBP 2000 (canon) it uses HP PCL5 language but when I try to count the '\f' (\x0C) in the lpd data file (dfAxxxxxxx), it appears a large number I have tried to bypass the graphics code by filtered out the ' \x1B*r#A'.....'\x1B*rB' but it seem no effect. Hi folks; I have an odd one. I recently upgraded from 3.3.x to 3.4.3 and suddenly lost both the old "smbpasswd" file AND the ability to connect to printers from Windows 7 clients. File server is fine, and everything else is working - I can connect to printers from XP machines, but not from Windows 7 any more. I get an "0x00000000d" error from Win7 when I try to connect....

Other office 2003 products print fine, and Access 2000 worked, but Access 2003 will not print to a samba server here. In my setup I'm running Samba 3.0.23d-19.2 and CUPS 1.2.7-12.1. Printing from a windows-client works fine, until I instruct CUPS to add a banner-page. The banner-page then is the only thing that gets printed. Doing the same from Linux everything works fine. I get my job including a banner-page. The Windows-printjob is passed raw from Samba to CUPS... Anyone has an idea? Best, Johannes
