can't read superblock (but could mount)
Hi!
I used to have arch linux running on 1 btrfs partition (sda1, incl. /boot).
When switching to 3.2.5 recently the system fails to boot:

and so on, no idea.
It used to boot with 3.2.4, but

Converting Win fon-fonts to linux pcf fonts
Hi,
I tried to convert win fon fonts to linux pcf fonts using fnt2bdf as it is
described in the wine documentation.
On some fonts fnt2bdf said rthat there is no charset set information in the
fon file so that the -c option has to be used.
But what charset option should be used for such fonts? fnt2bdf's help does
print out a example where...

How to detect the spatial point pattern with Thomas process based on pcf
Hi all,
I am using "spatstat" to investigate the spatial structure of some plant
populations, but I have no idea about detecting the spatial point pattern
with Thomas process based on pcf. Additionally, generating simulation
envelope using this null model is another problem for me. I am not very
familiar with R, so I hope anyone have any experience with this work can
give me any assistance.
Many thanks

O-ring statistic
...patstat'
(available on CRAN or from www.spatstat.org)
According to the cited website, the O-ring statistic is a rescaled
version of the pair correlation function between two types of points:
O_12(r) = lambda_2 g_12(r)
In spatstat, pair correlation functions are computed by the function
'pcf'. To estimate the cross-type pair correlation function,
you do something like
pcf(Kcross(X, 1, 2))
where X is a marked point pattern containing points of types 1 and 2.
To estimate the intensity of type 2 points you use summary(X).
Here's an example for the bivariate point pattern...

Specific Font with wine
Hi !
I run Wine 20050211 on RedHat 9. I would like run an application which
use 4 specific fonts (.FON under windows).
I read the manual (winehq.org/site/docs/wine-user/config-fonts-main) and
follow the instructions. But it seems not working ...
1. I convert .fon files to .bdf and to .pcf. I moved the .pcf files to
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc. I'm not sure here to have correct files because
I can't see them in the font manager or in a text editor ! but may be
it's normal ?
2. I restart all my system
3. The manual says : Edit the ~/.wine/config file to remove aliases fo...

...e correct unicode -> codepage table (from the source
unicode/c_042.c) and applies it to characters already in adobe's
symbol format.
I've had success with two work arounds.
One involves simply editting the font.dir files. I found wine was
using the files /usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/symb*.pcf.gz for the symbol font.
So I editted the fonts.dir file in this directory and changed all
instances of -adobe-fontspecific to -iso8859-1
ie
symb12.pcf.gz -adobe-symbol-medium-r-normal--12-120-75-75-p-74-adobe-fontspecific
becomes

Using .fon files with wine's native font rendering
Hi,
I need to use a custom .fon bitmap font under Wine,
but the only way I can get it to work (having
converted it to a .pcf according to the docs) is to
use X11 font rendering - ie. removing all the TTFs
from my pseudo-c:\windows\fonts directory.
I've tried things like putting the .fon file (and the
converted .pcf files) into the fonts directory, but
it's not seen by Wine.
Is there a way to use a bitmap font u...

[ANNOUNCE] mkfontscale 1.0.5
This version fixes a long-standing bug in mkfontdir that would cause
both PCF and BDF variants of a font to be included into the fonts.dir
file under some circumstances. It also fixes the handling of
OpenType/CFF fonts with embedded bitmaps, which will no longer be
mistaken for bitmap fonts.

This release imports the libXfont 1.x BDF-reading and PCF-writing code,
as this program is the only known user of that code and libXfont 1.x is
otherwise unmaintained. No functional difference should be apparent,
this is just another step towards eliminating the old version of
libXfont from the world.

Bitmap Fonts and wine 1.3?
Hello,
I'm trying to get rpgmaker games to run correctly in wine.
(Well they do, but without sound and the font looks crappy)
So first thing to do for me is to get the fonts readable.
After hours of searching on google I've converted the the rm2000.fon file to a .bdf and a pcf file and managed to install the font for the X Server.
But i couldn't find out how to use it in wine :(

QoS in wireless networks
Hello,
I''m trying to configure several wireless routers with QoS support. The
idea is to implement differentiated services so that VoIP traffic gets
the maximal priority, then video, control traffic, interactive data
traffic and best-effort traffic.
I have seen that CBQ used to be chosen as qdisc for implementing
bandwith share in DiffServ but now HTB is preferred because it is
