Documents in home folder 'Read Only'
My user is logged in to the Samba Server.
smb.conf has the following:
[homes]
comment = Home Directories
read only = No
create mask = 0775
directory mask = 0775
browseable = No
writeable = Yes
The files in the user's home directory are set to chmod 777.
What do I need to do to enable the user to write to her Directory?

Updating to Samba Version 4.19.5 via Debian Bookworm Backports
...that those running on AMD64 architecture, the update doesn't appear. Machines running on arm architectures (armel & arm64) are updated correctly. I haven't changed anything in the /etc/apt/samba.lists file and previous updates have worked fine. Is anyone else having this problem?
Patience you must have, my young Padawan.
Have patience and all will be revealed.

Here''s a simple description:

When I tail the development.log I never see this action get posted to

configure in git repository
After downloading "celt-0.11.1.tar.gz" to OS X 10.6, I was able to
./configure and make with no problems.
However, when I "git clone git://git.xiph.org/celt.git" then cd to celt,
there is no file called "configure".
So, I just took a guess and ran autogen.sh which then created a "configure"
I then ran the new ./configure and saw the following:

During this time ALL services (svn, web, etc) except for the mailing lists will be down. We are performing a server upgrade that will take some time, so I ask that you have patience. We will try to be as speedy as possible.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,

Not much I can say except that I am very excited to enter this new
world(solely for me of course, kind of late) of rubyonrails.If anyone
has any patience or just plain kindness to help me on my first steps
(leaps?) , I would greatly appreciate any links, references, tips,
hellos, or whatever else is offered.
Thanks ahead of time,

NEWBIE: Help explaining use of lm()?
I'm attempting the heruclean task of teaching myself Introductory
Statistics and R at the same time. I'm working through Peter Dalgaard's
Introductory Statistics with R, but don't understand why the answer to
one of the exercises works. I'm hoping someone will have the patience to
explain the answer to me, both in the statistics and R areas.
Exercise 6.1 says:
The zelazo data are in the form of a list of vectors, one for each of
the four groups. Convert the data to a form suitable for the use of lm,
and calculate the relevant tests. ...
This stumped me right from the be...

I am not sure I would have the patience to do it that way, If I ever
experience problems with in-place upgrade after testing, I would restore
from backup and use the rejoin process. It would be easier for me
because I am running Samba in containers. People running in VMs will be
easier too.

2.3.10.1 on OpenBSD
Apart from a few warnings (attached), and a bit of patience, the compiler terminates without error. On patience, OBSD has two processes who took almost half the CPU when compiling: reaper and zerothread. Will look into the warnings, and the testing errors (also attached). Let see how it works on this machine.
