[LLVMdev] llvm-py for llvm 2.6
Hi folks,
I've updated LLVM-py to work with the latest LLVM.
The patch is available here:
http://code.google.com/p/llvm-py/issues/detail?id=25
The patch can be applied with the command:
patch -p0 < patchfile

EVE Online support
Hi,
as seen the Eve online support improved in the last time.
The problem with that is that these things are only workarounds atm. So
the next step should be that these hacks get improved so they can become
real patches which are accepted by AJ.
The current patchfile can be found at http://elfe.mine.nu/eve/linux/
So basicly some facts about the current EVE status:

smbpasswd + ldap questions
I would like to have sync'd Unix and Samba passwords. My Unix passwords
are stored in OpenLDAP for uniformity across machines and services. I
have some problems with the standard solutions to this problem though:
* if I have Samba authenticate from OpenLDAP directly (using the
smbPassword attribute), then I get sync'ing problems when the password
is changed via normal Unix means. We

Very nice, but llvm-py is not in the llvm.org svn repo, you'll likely

Bristuff 1.2.7.1?
Has anyone managed to add the bristuff patch to 1.2.7.1 successfully?
My attempts has ended up bad, so if anyone has a working patchfile for 1.2.7.1 I would be grateful to receive it.
Thanks,
Vidar

Applying a Patch.
Hello all.
I sent a message to Jerry and the list, I see it didn't appear, must have made an error. Maybe that's good, I shouldn't hassle Jerry about minor stuff.
I've never applied a patch. What does it entail, I'm sure being a rocket scientist isn't part of it? I been to the site and seen the patches, they look like scripts that can be run, is this the case? How?

Driver macosx-ups failing on Yosemite
...rkupstools/nut/commit/b608975b55895e853ba8d24fc08761bff2c65940
Patch: https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/compare/macosx_power_dict.diff
I don't use MacPorts much, but I think this is how you would add this patch to the NUT portfile:
https://guide.macports.org/#development.patches.source
patchfiles macosx_power_dict.diff

libexecdir and localstatedir problem
...dir is used, but $pkglibexecdir. And $pkglibexecdir is always
defined as $libexecdir/dovecot. But I don't want this trailing "/dovecot".
Same with localstatedir. I want dovecot to use a certain path. But to
this path, a "run/dovecot" is appended. I surely could build some
patchfiles to change the Makefiles. But it would be easier, if you could
add a new directive --pgklibexecdir to the configure-script.
I don't know where the "run/dovecot" is defined, but it would also be
very fine to set it in the configure-script (specially when upgrading to
new releases) in...

Syslinux doesn't compile on Mandriva Linux - fixed
Hi,
I've tried to compile syslinux under mandriva, and the compilation always
bails out because it hasn't created win32/syslinux.exe. As far as I
understand, the build will work fine on a Windows / mingw installation, but not
Linux.
I've modified my Makefile to remove the win32/syslinux.exe from the build, and
it now builds OK.
This happened on 3.3.6 and also on 4.0pre.

rsync very slow with large include/exclude file list
I investigated the rsync code and found the reason why.
For every file in the source, it searches the entire filter-list looking to
see if that filename is on the exclude/include list. Most aren't, so it
compares (350K - 72K) * 72K names (the non-listed files) plus (72K * 72K/2)
names (the ones that are listed), for a total of about 22,608,000,000
strcmp's. That's 22 BILLION

Suggestion: put svn url under "Contribute" section of site
Hello,
I have been looking to submit a patch to RSpec, and I wanted to go
about it the right way, so I loaded up
http://rspec.rubyforge.org/contribute.html. The author of this page
suggests that one should download from trunk to make any patches. It
would be great if this section also included a url to the trunk.

rsync with --link-dest=DIR
...cial order but I am not really experienced in this.
I also compiled a version with only the fileflags.diff and rtimes.diff (I took this from the macports Portfile.
This works, but the resulting binary also recopies many files instead of creating the hardlinks.
My questions:
1. How can I apply all patchfiles from the patches directory?
2. Can I expect that the creation of hardlinks on external drives then will work?
3. What else could I do to make it work?
Thanks in advance and best regards
Martin
