AreskiCC
Hi,
I have installed AreskiCC on Slackware 10.1 with Asterisk latest CVS and
Postgres 7.4. First of all the instructions are very confusing and hard to
follow if you are not an expert. But, I managed to install it and.obviously
t doesn't work. The other instructions I found on wiki are a great effort
but incomplete. Basically the first thing that happens is that when I load

icecast with winAmp as the streamer
All Icecast head.
I agree oddcast DSP plugin is more steady with Icecast. But I encounter bad passwork. I have specified the encoder password in the icecast.conf which match the plugin password. But it still didn't work. Where else to specify, and how ?. What about group.aut, mount.aut and users.aut. ?. Example ?..

Security of ssh across a LAN, public key versus password
There is room for differences of opinion here.
other factors
do you reuse the password elsewhere (or use a passwork close enough, most people
tend to use a static prefix and have a cycling value at the end)
do people use a password manager
do you always start from the same system? or do you use different systems at
different times. If you use different systems, how do you manage your certs

Liveice not streaming to Icecast?
I'm totally new to this, so forgive me.
I've installed Icecast, Liveice, Lame and MPG123 in usr/local directory,
each with its own directory.
In icecast.conf I've set the server name to a name that resolves to home
network IP address. streamurl is set to http://servername:8000. staticdir is
set to /usr/local/icecast/static.
In liveice.cfg, the servername is the same as in

AreskiCC doesn't log in
Hi, thanks for responding.
Well, that's exactly wher I am stuck. My defines.php is with username=root
and password=. but it still says the password is wrong. Now, let me be more
specific: Postgres is running as user postgres at the Login: postgres, ok.
The one thing I am not 100% sure is if php-pgsql is installed because I
installed PHP from the Slackware 10.1 disk. Other then that, I

Windows 3.1 and Samba
Has anybody got some experience with connecting machines running Windows3.1
or WfWG (3.11) to Samba? We would like to run a small lab network with
user accounts and a shared printer off the samba box. Samba is running fine
and there's no problem to connect to it from the Win95/WinNT machines...
Any help appreciated.

Samba within a network IP over ATM
Hello,
I'm having problems using SAMBA servers within an IP over ATM network.
I'm using experimental IP addresses (net 192.168.28.0), Linux servers with
the 2.2.1 kernel version and RedHat 5.2, Win95 and WinNt 4.0 client
machines.
The problem is, through Ethernet everything works the way it should. Using
ATM and keeping the Ethernet cables connected somehow the data flows through
the ATM

Can anybody answer me?! Thanks in advance!!!
I have patch 3.0.6 with all patchs in http://samba.org/~jerry/patches/post-3.0.6/ ,

SIP registration error, lost packets with asterisk
Hi all,
I encounter an annoying problem using Asterisk.
I 'm using SIP. I try to register an Asterisk as a SIP end user with
another Asterisk.
If I put both asterisk in the same local network, no problem to do it.
The asterisk end user registered perfectly with the other (let's call it
the registrar).
Authentication is enable and works fine.
The problem occurs when I put the registrar

Security of ssh across a LAN, public key versus password
I have a small LAN at home with nine or ten systems on it running
various varieties of Linux. I 'do things' on the LAN either from my
dekstop machine or from my laptop, both run Xubuntu 24.04 at the
moment.
There's a couple of headless systems on the LAN where login security
is important to me and I've been thinking about the relative merits of
password and public-key
