Bridge and vepa mode macvtap devices determine which device to pass traffic
to based on the destination mac address. If the destination doesn't
match the macvtap device (as in your case), the traffic is not passed
through the macvtap.
Passtru mode is different. It will always pass the packet to the macvtap
device. The limitation of a passthru mode is that you effectively assign
the hardware device to the VM. You will not be able that device on the host.
If the above doesn't appeal to you, you'd need to use a a bridge or OVS...

Limitations of macvtap devices?
I am running OpenStack inside a libvirt guest that is connected to the
local network via a macvtap interface. My experience so far suggests
that a macvtap interface will not pass traffic with a source MAC
address other than the MAC address of the interface itself...for
example, if inside the guest eth0 is attached to a bridge.
Is that correct, or is there some setting that will make that work?

creating script for init.d
Hello.
I'm moving from a very old Fedora Core 1 to CentOS 4.4, what a change!!
Three year ago, I wrote some script (network related) and worked very well.
Now, I can put into init.d by means of chkconfig and I restarted the system,
but always hang when executing my srcipt (in my new centos 4.4).
There a manual for making scripts for init.d?

Patches for VGA-Passthrough XEN 4.2 unstable
Hello, I have been working on VGA-passthrough in the last month.
When Xen was at his version 3.5 there was a few patches to make this work for some graphic cards using the patches developed by Han Weidong and posted here (http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2009-08/msg01176.html) and the same patches posted file by file are here
