[R-pkgs] New package: passport
Hi! I'm happy to announce the debut of my first package on CRAN, `passport`, to help your country name and code data travel smoothly between formats. `passport` brings simple utilities for parsing irregular country names to standardized codes using local regex, or for anything geocodable, the Data Science Toolkit or Google geocoding APIs. Once the data is standardized,...

cannot backup to external disk with rsync, create hard links of add w permissions
Dear rsync users, I want to backup my Documents directory and instead of copying everything to my external disk I tried to use this command line to create an incremental backup with rsync on my external disk: $cd /media/My\ Passport $rsync -a --delete --link-dest=../BackUp08.2009_Ubuntu/ /home/thomas2/Documents/ BackUp01.2010_Ubuntu/ but I get the following output: rsync: chgrp "/media/My Passport/BackUp01.2010_Ubuntu/." failed: Operation not permitted (1) rsync: chgrp "/media/My Passport/BackUp01.2010_Ubunt...

For what reason the "official" Wine does not support USB ?
Hello A lot of windows application need access to an USB port. For Wine a library (or a patch) exists to manage that but it is not include in the "official" release. If we want to work with this USB port, we have to compile a personal version of Wine, but this is not really obvious for every body. Why this feature is not include in the release ? Do you plan an official release with

Dawn of War trouble and other questions
Hi: I'm a relative noob to Wine, and I'm having a little trouble getting Dawn of War (regular, plus Winter Assault) to run under Debian Lenny. When I try to install it, it always tries to install automatically to the c: drive, which I don't want to do because I don't have enough space (running on a laptop). I do, however, have a USB external drive, which I'd like it to load

Re: Error: Migration not permitted with assigned PCIdevice
We use Digi Serial-over-IP devices to pass through serial ports to domUs. We''ve had success with the Digi One SP, PortServer TS, and Passport devices. I currently use the Passport 48 for IP access to all of my serial consoles (Ethernet switches, RAID arrays, FC switches, etc.) as well as to pass through a modem to my HylaFAX server, which is in a Xen domU. -Nick >>> Federico Fanton <fake@panizzolo.it> 2008/10/30 01:47...

MSN Messenger 4.7 vs 5.0
...while on my W2k Laptop to place SIP-Calls via asterisk with messengers "communications service" feature. Works fine. Then I thought that it would be a good idea to do an upgrade to v5.0... (yes, never touch a running system ;) But now - there's only the possibility to create and use Passport-accounts. Did I just don't find it or isn't there any chance to do SIP calls with Messenger 5.0 any more? TIA Rainer -- http://graphics.cs.uni-sb.de/VoIP/

Single Sign On with multiple domains
Hi, can anyone provide a way to do this with rails: I have 3 sites on different domain names. I want a unified sign on. so that, if your logged on from one site, your automatically logged on another site, allowing seamless navigation between different sites as a logged in user. I understand with cookies, you can do this for subdomains. But what about multiple different domains? Thanks. --
