[LLVMdev] Question from a passer-by
Hi all,
Was wondering what is the real benefit of say translating from LLVM's
RISC-type instruction set to the x86 which is a more CISC type of
design? Especially after emitting said RISC stream from a much
higher-level language like say C or C++? I always thought that to
efficiently translate logic, as much as possible information has to be
retained down the translation chain? Would that not

[LLVMdev] DEBUG INFO at the bytecode level
Hello,
Could I get some debug info at the byte code level? I am writing a
passer and if will be nice if I can know which line in the source an
instruction (or value) corresponds to.
I found a document online:
http://llvm.org/docs/SourceLevelDebugging.html, but I can't find an
example of doing it at the byte code level.
Cheers,
Zheng

[LLVMdev] DEBUG INFO at the bytecode level
Thanks Edwin.
I found DebugInfo.cpp may be useful. Could you tell me which function
I should call inorder to know the source file name and the line number
for a particular instruction?
Cheers,
Zheng

je voudrais savoir comment faire pour passer le format bmp, par exemple, en format xpm?
Est-ce qu''il est possible de lire des formats bmp(entre autre) avec StaticBitmap?
C''est toi en photo dans l''exemple de StaticBitmap?
merci

[LLVMdev] Is this value an integer type?
Hello,
I have a problem of dumping a value. Here is the llvm assembly code:
---
%322 = getelementptr inbounds [76 x [4 x i8]]* @i_tc0_table, i32 0,
i32 %305, i32 %321 ; <i8*> [#uses=1]
%323 = load i8* %322, align 1 ; <i8> [#uses=1]
store i8 %323, i8* %89, align 1

I want to dump %323 to a library function whose prototype is:

isolinux, extlinux and accented characters
Hello,
First of all, thanks very much for this piece of software, it's working
like a charm.
I'm using it to boot a Linux distro I'm working on.
What I want to deal with is the display of accented characters in ISOLINUX.
First, I set EXTLINUX up to boot an ext2-formatted USB stick. No problem
so far.
I wrote a config file ordering to load a font (lat-9w) to display french

Disable Kernel Screen Blanker
...How do I stop this machine from blanking the screen with no activity? I
want video full time!
I know someone is going to ask, "Why do you want to do that?", so to
save you from asking.
1. I'm setting up a kiosk that customers can use interactively. It's
not very inviting to passers by when the screen is blank.
2. I want to watch movies and Skype without having to poke the mouse all
the time.
3. My monitor is very unhappy when the video signal is cut off.
4. My wife is very unhappy when the screen goes blank.
5. Insert your reason here. I just want it to stop. ;-)

Roger?
Can your read me?
The command from the command line works fine.
"Perhaps an introductory book to Linux would help you."
You?re right.
I bought this great book "A la d?couverte du Raspberry Pi" by Matt
Richardson (NUT monitoring is done on the RPI2 I recently bought).
But I?m still a beginner (and an old one).

Samba 3.0.33 works, 3.5.4 doesn't
I'm trying to get AD authentication working on a RHEL 5.4 base system
I can wbinfo -[ug] and getent {passwd|group} with 3.0.33 Everything
appears to work just fine, except I could not actually authenticate...
I'd always get failed password. A lot of Googling turned up a bug that
indicated that it was impossible to get 3.0.33 to authenticate against a
W2K8 AD, so I installed 3.5.4 Same

Hello, all !
I'm trying to add users to my NT domain from my samba servers (This to
create all my accounts with only a single script, I do not want to create
them on the PDC, then create their folders on the samba file server with
another...)
I managed to create account with "net rpc user add", then put them in the
right domain

"raw" and "iso" are not mutually exclusive. I think that perhaps you
meant "HDD versus El Torito emulation." One can do:

KERNEL memdisk
APPEND raw iso
INITRD ramwin.iso

Finding instrumented code
Hi all,
So I just took Sun''s dtrace class this week and one thing that piqued my
interest was the instrumenting of a process''s instructions and how to
find the original instructions. (I''m looking around at resources for
learning SPARC assembly to help me when using mdb for analysis, though I
vaguely remember pieces from a grad school compiler theory class about

Faked samba packages / rootkit?
Does anybody know of these samba packages?
http://ftp.cvut.cz/samba/samba-latest.tar.gz
AFAICS they are faked and contain some kind of rootkit (you can see
this in the history below. the server this history is from is taken
offline for security reasons, and nobody is there till 7th Jan I
can't give you more details)
