How to add/draw a persp3d graph to a plot with an existing surface/graph
Dear R users, I have been trying to draw the following 3d graphs: The solid region bounded above by the paraboloid z = 9 - x2 - y2 and below by the unit circle in the xy-plane. I wanted to visualize the solid region bounded by those two graphs. I could draw those two 3d graphs separately, but I could not get those two to work in one single plot. Here's my code for the paraboloid: x <-

Lucene index not updated when one saves a message from one folder to the other
...hive, the next time I do an X-TEXT-FAST search, Dovecot has to re-index the mails that I think it had indexed when they were in INBOX. This seems silly, since Dovecot was the one copying them (and then deleting, since that's what I mean by move). Will this change? -- Asheesh. -- Elliptic paraboloids for sale.

shading an area of a graphic
Colleagues OS 10.5 R: 2.10.1 I have a simple x-y plot for which I would like to shade the lower (or upper) part of the interior region (i.e., the area bounded by the axes). If the delineation between top and bottom were linear, it would be use to use the polygon function. However, the delineation is a curve (which I can describe by an equation). In theory, I could divide the x-axis into a

Collinearity in nls problem
Dear R-Help list, I have a nonlinear least squares problem, which involves a changepoint; at the beginning, the outcome y is constant, and after a delay, t0, y follows a biexponential decay. I log-transform the data, to stabilize the error variance. At time t < t0, my model is log(y_i)=log(exp(a0)+exp(b0)) at time t >= t0, the model is log(y_i)=log(exp(a0-a1*(t_i - t0))+exp(b0=b1*(t_i -
