arrays of lists in R ("cell arrays" in Matlab)
...that in R you can create 1-dimensional arrays of lists, either
with the vector() function or by making a list of lists, but it is not
clear to me whether it is actually possible to have 2-dimensional arrays
of lists.
thank you very much for any suggestion

integration of a discrete function
...egrate', that perform adaptive quadrature on
analytic functions, and not on a curve specified as a set of (x,y) pairs.
I have the impression that I am not looking in the right place.... or I
should code the algorithm myself?
thanks for any suggestion

corrgram (package corrgram): how to plot multiple correlograms in the same page?
...ram() from the package corrgram. However, the function does not seem to use the base graphic system, as setting out the multiple figure layout with, e.g., par(mfrow=c(2, 2,)) does not work.
Does anybody know a workaround for this?
Many thanks in advance for any advice

Function nlme::lme in Ubuntu (but not Win or OS X): "Non-positive definite approximate variance-covariance"

[1] TRUE
I am unable to figure out the reason why I get such a difference in the
output: all the machines are running the latest version of R (3.0.1) and
nlme package (3.1-109) as of today (updated from the CRAN master site).
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions,

Repeated-measures anova with a within-subject covariate (or varying slopes random-effects?)

Perhaps should lme() be used instead (and with which formula?)?
Many thanks in advance to anybody who'd be so kind to offer their
advice or tip on this. I have scoured the web and some textbooks for
a few days now, but to little avail.
