Can't run Active State perl .exe
I am having trouble running an exe that was written in Active State perl.
In Windows, I would go to the CLI and type
Code:
C:\pager\pager.exe cl
Passing "cl" as an arguement that passes the file "cl.config" to the pager.exe program.
I have not had any success running this in Wine, and I do not know if it is a syntax problem or if Wine does not work with it.
I have tried:
Code:

default pager is more
Was wondering why R help in recent Fedora only provided --More--
prompt for viewing, rather than allowing arrow key navigation as on
RHEL. It turns out it uses a system command for paging and the current
default pager is more:
grep PAGER /usr/lib64/R/etc/Renviron
PAGER=${PAGER-'/usr/bin/more'}
rpm -qf /usr/lib64/R/etc/Renviron
R-core-4.4.1-3.fc41.x86_64
This primarily affects function help, where less is much more capable
for navigation and searching.
Back in 2011 there was some discussion on this lis...

This was dropped as part of an effort to minimize dependencies of R-core,

more or less pager
R-users,
(forgive my return adres)
I've been breaking my head why R---which i find fabulous, by the
way---does not pipe interactive output through a pager (more or less),
like it does with help(), or like GNU Octave does with arrays with more
than terminal height rows.
Maybe it is my installation (Debian/GNU Linux). Maybe it is my
configuration, but i don't think so because with help() it works

Pager size in 1.2.2 Windows
The following sequence of commands (for example):
>my.data<-rnorm(10000, 5, 1)
>my.data
fills my pager buffer beyond its capacity. When I type "my.data", the
pager displays approximately the bottom 7000 cells of the file, but "loses"
the first 3000. Is there a some setting that increases the size of the
pager buffer, or is this a limit in the Windows version?

directing print.packageInfo to a file
There was a discussion on r-help of getting the output from
print.packageInfo into a file. Spencer and I have added a file=
argument to print.packageInfo for consideration in R. Had this
been available it would have simplified the answer to that
thread. If the file= argument is used then the packageInfo
information is sent to the file specified rather than displayed
using file.show .

pager reminder script
...sics of the script are as follows: It queries an asterisk inbox of
your choosing for the existence of a file that has been there longer than
the time set in the script (you are free to set this time to whatever you
like). If it finds the existence of the file it emails a reminder to the
email/pagers/text message device of your choosing. If the time exceeds a
second time set by you in the script, it will email a second
pager(s)/email(s)/text messenger(s) with a different message. The logic
is very simple: you install the script where you want it installed, have
cron run it at whatever in...

Pager Voicemail Message
Hello,
In voicemail.conf, it's possible to edit the voicemail message, but when I define a pager email address, I get the message from "Asterisk PBX", and the content is fixed by the system.
Is there a way to manipulate this message, as well?
Thanks,
David

Pager Notification
Hi;
Before I tell a customer that this would require custom development I
figured I would ask here.
Does Asterisk support pager notification of new voicemails out of the
box? Or do I need an AGI script to do that?
Also, if I want to call a number from an automated program in Asterisk
and get the DTMF tones entered by the user on the other side, is there
an easy way to do this?
Best Wishes.

gnuclient.exe as pager ?
...lient.exe'. I don't understand how this
works, since there is no executable anywhere on my machine called
"gnuclient.exe". But I have no complaints: I like the primitive
spreadsheet that now gets invoked by edit.data.frame. Now, I would like
to be able to also use this gizmo as my pager (I would prefer to only
call edit.data.frame when I really intend to do some editing). But
setting options(pager = "gnuclient.exe") doesn't do the trick. I can't
figure out what's going on, since page calls file.show, which calls
.Internal.
So, can I use "gnuclient.exe&...

Pager Notification Script
Does anyone on the list have a script for notifying pagers that they
would be willing to share? I have found a reference in the archive to
such a script, but previous attempts to find the author of that
posting have failed.
Anyhow, I am looking to set up a system whereby a message is sent to
a pager when a voicemail is left in a specified mailbox...

kde 4.3 beta 2, compiz 8.2 - panel pager doesn't work until plasma crash and restart
Listmates,
Woking with compiz 8.2 on kde 4.3 beta 2 on Archlinux, the plasma "kicker"
pager widget does not work correctly after compiz 8.2 is started. Before
compiz is started you see the 4 small desktop representations stacked 2x2.
After you start compiz, the panel only shows a single large pane 'Desktop 1'
no matter what desktop you are on.
The strange part is that after p...

OT: pager pay
...ll company's policy against other
companies out there. We pay 10% of your per-hour salary equivalent
per every hour you carry it, whether it goes off or not. So for
example someone making $55K/year works out to about $27 / hour (I
think), so they'd get $2.70 for every hour they carry the pager
outside of regular work hours. We are a company of about 25 people.
My old employer Nortel still does it this way :
- $27.50 for every 8 hour shift you carry it, outside of regular work hours.
- any page is billed at time-and-a-half, minimum 1 hour billed
- any page requiring you to go into work...

SuSe does not like more.
In R "help(package=pkg)" or "library(help=pkg)" seems to behave
like 'more' or 'less' or something that looks like one of these.
Under RedHat this behaves normally: at the end of help it reverts
automatically to the R prompt '>'.
In SuSe it doesn't jump back to the prompt automatically:
I see something like "line 1/28 (end)" and then I

(ripley at stats.ox.ac.uk) and me (guido at stat.unipd.it) or to r-devel.
CHANGES:
~~~~~~~~
An installer (rwinst.exe).
There is a choice of interface for Rgui:
o SDI, single document interface. This is like the previous version,
with separate windows for the console, graphics and pager(s).
o MDI, multiple document interface. Here the console, graphics and
pagers are subwindows of one main `frame' window.
You can set your preference (and details of the MDI) in the Rconsole
file: this can also be overriden on the command line by --mdi or
--sdi.
If you use multiple files...
This would also affect "man". Better to use SYSTEMD_PAGER.
