How to query the package owning the file? (no packahe manger installed)
Guys recently I had this question asked in a technical interview.
How do I find out the package owning a particular file, when no package
managers are installed?
I am assuimg SRPMs are used to install the software?
Is this actually possible? Install the Linux OS without a package manager?
I know "rpm -qf filename" gives the package owning the file.
But how to get the package name

Problem with lm
Hi,
I have a problem in relation with a packahe I made. It runs on my machine (Windows, where I made the package), and it runs in a Mac machine, but it does not run in another Mac machine with the same R version.
The part of the code is giving problems:
singleCosinor <- function(t, y, period=24) {
x1 <- cos(2 * pi * t / period)

Help on install.packages() function
..., when I need to download some package I use for example
install.packages("fBasics") function. However simply using that function
needs additional intervention to select the server from which I want to
download. I would like to ask the list how I can put additional argument in
the install.packahes() function to stop showing that pop-up?
While looking into the help page I guess "repos = getOption("repos")" is the
responsible one. However still in dark to understand how to change that
option.
Thanks,

Help with graphs in A4 size
....path(getwd(), "Graph.pdf"))
I have tested using layout with different zones and the results were wrong.
Some idea about how can I solve it?.
I indicate some important notes:
1) I need to use plotrix package, because of axis.break and addtable2plot functions.
2) I can not use ggplot2 packahe, because of incompatibility with other functions I have to choose.
3) I would not like to use pdf() and dev.off() as method for the pdf creation. I would like to use dev.copy2pdf.
Thank you in advance.

Clash between r-cran-vr and r-cran-mass
...So for Debian packages this became r-cran-vr, and we still have many
package depending on r-cran-vr when it should be r-cran-mass that they should
depend upon.
4) To make matters more interesting, R changed course and stopped having bundles. So
VR is now gone and we have four replacement packahes MASS, spatial, nnet and class.
Trouble is, 'we' still have the depends on r-cran-vr to satisfay.
5) All that said, you are creating your own trouble. There simply is no
package r-cran-latticist for Ubuntu.
6) I presume you are trying to mix Ubuntu with the cran2deb repository. Th...
