no longer goes to standby when lid is closed
...heard this happening to someone on IRC, the solution if I remember correctly is to update MATE from epel-testing.

LibreSSL on CentOS 7
Hello list,
I've recently been working with LibreSSL on CentOS 7 and I thought I'd
share it.
I would be cautious about using it on production servers, but it seems
to be behaving itself for me.
https://librelamp.com/
I packaged it to install in parallel with OpenSSL rather than replace it.
Apache (2.4.16), MariaDB (5.5.45) and PHP (5.6.12) complete the lamp stack.
With MariaDB I

more on RINSTALL with doc clobbers function.html
After some investigation I find that "R INSTALL dse" seems to work well.
Also,
"R REMOVE dse" works but does not clean out ~/.R (which would be pretty
difficult because all users may have this). The result is that a user will have
the impression that the package is installed when it has be remove. (This is
probably not too serious.)
However, "R INSTALL -l rlibs

check if excel file is
Hello again,
I'd like to determine if an Excel file is open or writable. Can anyone help
me with that?
I write some stats to an .xlsx Excel file using the xlsx package. I can't
write to the file unless its closed. How do I determine if the .xlsx file
is open or closed so I can write to it?
I've looked at file.info and file.access and I couldn't get those to work
for me.

FF3 printing problem on Centos 4.x
I'm using Centos 4.x (fully up to date) on a system at work. I have also
been using firefox 2 (directly from mozilla.org) on it for a long time,
and it tends to work just fine.
yesterday I installed the new FF3 release. It works fine too, with one
exception: The print dialog shows no printers! The print button is greyed
out! There actually four or five printers defined on the system, and all

no longer goes to standby when lid is closed
since I got the big bolus of updates from the CR repo a few days ago my
netbook (AcerAspire One D255E) will no longer go to standby when the
lid is closed.
This was a Gnome desktopp installation with theh MATE desktop fromm
EPEL.
I've verified that the correct setting still exists in power manager
but it persists in continuing to run when the lid closes.
it WILL go to standby if explicitly

Proposal: 'global' package refactoring
Looking over the contents of various packages, including my own, it is clear
that lots of things end up 'hidden away' in packages where they don't
belong. My gregmisc package is a particularly egregious example, containing
something from almost every functional category.
I propose that from time to time the R community go through the complete set
of packages and 'refactor'
