linux bridging problem: how to emulate 2 separate interfaces on a single one?
...e, on tap0, using tcpdump, I see all the L2 broadcast frames
going on the LAN; but on the counters of "ifconfig tap0" all of them are
considered dropped. No packet is counted as transmitted or received,
also if I try to ping from or to tap0.
The tap interface starts to transmit/receive pachets only if it is
connected to some process like qemu or openvpn.
Maybe, it is not possibile for tap interface to be used directly by the
linux os?
Thanks!

When the inside functions of a sfq are called ?
I read the sched/qdiscs code from kernel source ... and I have some
questions :
When the .enqueue, .dequeue, .drop, .requeue functions are called ? What
is the event that triggers them and how often this event apears ( per
second ? ) ? When a qdisc is dequeued ( when it''s limit is reached ) ?
Thanks

would like to strip the DSCP and possibly replace it with normal ToS bits on
egress traffic leaving my network. Leaving DSCP set is pointless, and could
potentially cause problems with some ISPs that use DSCP internally I suppose.
Setting ToS bits would seem ideal as most networks still honor it to varying

Re: Problems routing mail to particular interface
Is the 192.168.1.2 an ip on the router? If yes, you''ll have to mark in
OUTPUT, not PREROUTING, also, after you set up the rules and routes,
did you an
ip route flush cache
?
I hope these works
