Tryout paches for faster chert search: http://trac.xapian.org/ticket/326
Hi,
w.r.t. http://trac.xapian.org/ticket/326
I'd like to try out some of the patches mentioned against my xapian svn trunk
to see what kind of improvement can be realised.
There are quite a few patches, so can I simply try them all top-to-bottom, or
which of them are recommended (ie, I don't want to screw with the index
format)?
Thanks

automatically authenticate domain logged-on users ina pache with AD/NTDOM?
Yeah, "interoperate over either NTLM or Kerberos to provide SSO", that's
exactly what I'm talking about! Only, I want to trade IIS for apache@unix.
I can still use Explorer@windows for clients.
Very interesting, though, that Mozilla has been kerberized. I knew it would
happen, but I haven't read anything about that.
Thanks for the input,
Palle

How go back from X.Y-RELEASE-pZ to X.Y-RELEASE?
We are currently using cvs for both source and ports.
I have begun changing to portsnap for ports, and I
would also like to try changing at least some of our
servers to freebsd-update.
But all servers have been patched, using either RELENG_8_3
or RELENG_9_0 as cvs tag. I need to revert them to their
respective RELEASE to be able to use freebsd-update.
Complete reinstall from eg CD is not an

It works fine without xen, but fails under xen. Could xen be catching a
bug on drbd, or is it a bug caused by xen''s paches?

problems booting isolinux
...don't think it is a read failure of the CD drive
or media. While
most CD drives here are Samsung, I did test with two different SONY and one HP
drives The drives boot my older CDs but not the newer ones that are
larger (but still
much less than the 650MB quoted maximum).
I am willing to try paches, provide files, etc. I hope someone on the
list can help.
I tried mkisofs 2.01 and 2.01a7; as you can guess, my head is still
spinning from all
these combinations of boot attempts and the loss of almost an entire
box of CD blanks.
There is no question I am doing something wrong, and probably stu...

opengl problems
I have a 3dfx voodoo3 card, in X4.0.2 using the DRI opengl libs from
dri.sourceforge.net
my problem is, although 3d acceleration works for me under wine, all opengl
games are horribly flickery and some of the surfaces are transparent
because of this
has anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it?

NT4SP3 and encrypted passwords
...ion, so I
_know_ our Samba does not accept encrypted passwords.
On Thursday, we added a NT4/SP3 box. I expected it not to logon before
we made the plain-text password registry patch, but it did!
It's a new NT installation (on a new AMD K6 box), so I don't expect the
registry to be already pached. Does NT use password encryption only for
domain logons and plain-text passwords for 'logons to workgroups'?
