Hey Y'all, I'm looking at ZCad: http://sourceforge.net/projects/zcad/?source=directory It looks like the kind of 3D CAD package that I've been looking for. It says that it works on Linux but it's zipped with 7-Zip which doesn't seem to be available for CentOS. Ether, can you re-send either as a plain-text attachment, or if you need to use an archive, .zip or .tar.gz so it's a bit more standard for those of us not working on a Windows platform? Hi, Recently I've got several errors in one of my backups systems. The backup system uses basic tools: rsync, mysqldump, and zip and have worked fine until a few days ago. The zip command shows an error like this: size limit exceeded. So I've found out an alernative : p7zip. I have a text file that is UTF-16LE encoded with CRLF line endings and '@' as field separators that I want to read in R on a Linux system. Which would be fine as read.table("foo.txt", file.encoding = "UTF-16LE", sep = "@", ...) *except* that the data may contain the LF character which R treats as end-of-line and then barfs that there are too few elements

Winrar for linux does not have Benchmark. same with 7z. have installed Winrar & 7zip 32-bits for windows, could not install 64-Bit versions. *did not installed in KXStudio 10.x Generic Kernel... *but installed ok in KXStudio 10.x with RT Kernel. also Ubuntu 10.x generic kernel. Hi, I could try latest 7zip (4.57) on a triple boot machine (Debian SID i386, x86_64 and native Windows XP SP2), and found something surprising in the results : amd64 at 2400MHz linux32 -> 1814 linux64 -> 1946 win32 -> 2004 So performance is much better in Linux 64 bit than in 32 bit, while both are slower than native windows system.
