bug in syslinux 6.01 with gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
Hello,
I notice a bug in syslinux 6.01 ( bios version ) when I install it in a
USB flash drive ( FAT32 partition ) and when I want to boot this USB
flash drive with a gigabyte motherboard ( GA-P31-DS3L ),
I setup my usb flash drive ( 4 Gb ) like this in windows XP :
syslinux.exe -m -a -i -d /boot/syslinux H:
then I create a syslinux.cfg menu and I add these files : chain.c32
libcom32.c32 libutil.c32 memdisk menu.c32 vesamenu.c32
the bug : the system freeze immediatly after booting the U...

bug in syslinux 6.01 with gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
...ly something in syslinux ( ldlinux.sys ? )
who create a serious bug with my motherboard,
I tried also with a USB HDD ( not a flash drive ) and it's the same
problem, system freezes with syslinux 6.01,
something in syslinux 6.01 seems to trigger a bug when I boot with a
gigabyte motherboard GA-P31-DS3L,
with an older version of syslinux ( 4.04 ) it's ok, no bugs, maybe with
5.x versions of syslinux it will work also

Can we disable secondary_bus_reset in runtime?
I think we need this feature at least for debugging purpose, right?
Or, do we already have this feature?
Thanks,

anyone using pxelinux.0 > 3.36 successfully with HP DLXXX G3, G5?
...HP DL360 G3 and G5.
The latest syslinux Version I found with a working localboot is 3.36.
pxelinux.cfg/default:
default harddisk
prompt 1
label harddisk
localboot 0
implicit 0
timeout 250
This so simple, it should just work, shouldn't it?
The BIOS Versions are
G3 BIOS: P31(03/03/2005)
G5 BIOS: P58(07/10/2009)
Probably it doesn't work for G1,G2 and G6 Systems.
Is this a known limitation of the newer pxelinux Version?
Thanks in advance
regards Thomas

Cook-distance-type plot (vertical bars)
Hi,
Figure 13 of Emmanuel Paradis's "R for Beginners" was produced by termplot
working on an aov object. The lower right-hand plot is labelled "Cook's
distance plot", and I'd really like to produce a similar type of figure,
but in a totally different context. (I'm not even sure what this kind of
figure is called, perhaps an "impulse plot", where

data management
Dear Rxperts,
I have a varaibles data file that looks like this
p(1) 10
p(1) 3
p(1) 4
p(2) 20
p(2) 30
p(2) 40
p(3) 4
p(3) 1
p(1) 2
I cannot process these data with R because it does not like the parentheses.
How can I get these to look like:
p1 10
p1 3
p1 4
p2 20
p2 30
p2 40
p3 4
p3 1
p3 2
The data is in a tab delimited text file and I want to get it into a
data.frame().
Many thanks in

Determining vulnerability to issues described by SAs
Hi,
I've been trying for the past few days to come up with a method for
checking a FreeBSD system to see if it is vulnerable to an issue
described by a FreeBSD security advisory in some automated way, similar
to the way portaudit can use VuXML to check for vulnerabilities in
ports. Right now, I'm a bit stuck--there seem to be fairly major issues
with all the methods I've come up
