Hello, Do you have any way to detect the client which is connecting to our IMAP server? I actually have an mail server which use dovecot but I just want to allow mobile device access to this server to get email, not desktop as Outlook, Thunderbird ... Thanks for your advice. -- Regards, Thu NGUYEN

Connection and login scripts callback
...wait for result and then reject/accept connection with return message accordingly. 2. after failed login - dovecot should exec script with connection IP, login params without waiting for result The main reason behind this idea is to use some logic, database (redis...) or indicators like GeoIP, p0f as bruteforce prevention. It might be also usable for IP based ACLs. AFAIK the only way to create something similar is to proxy whole authentication to some external process, which is not desirable when dovecot manages user database. SH

want to ban XP Home Edition
Just for sake of curiosity: Is that possible ? I'd like to support XP Pro *only* and to ban any other Windows OS (no 2000 server or 2003 server machines in here). Samba works in domain mode with Ldap backend. Cheers, -- Michal Kurowski perl -e '$_=q#: 13_2: 12/o{>: 8_4) (_4: 6/2^-2; 3;-2^\2: 5/7\_/\7: 12m m::#; y#:#\n#;s#(\D)(\d+)#$1x$2#ge;print'

Rails without a primary key
I''ve been trying to use Rails on a database where the biggest datawarehouse-style table doesn''t have a primary key. It really doesn''t make sense and just adds extra unnecessary space. I do have, however, a column that I normally use to search on (IP) that returns many rows. The table also references several other tables through rails-friendly foreign keys. Simple AR

clone MAC address
Hi, I have a mini router that have this feature, "clone MAC address" My ISP doesn''t allow me to connect more than one computer. But, with the "clone MAC address" of the mini router, I can connect up to 5 computers, and my ISP can''t notice that. What do I need to do this "clonning" with my linux box? Thanks, Nico

Sockets stuck in FIN_WAIT_1
I have a rather busy Apache 2.2 server; tons of small & some large requests. It's a standard Dell 2650 server using the bge (broadcom) network driver. I seem to have a rather strange problem where after just a day or so Apache just stops processing new connections. You can connect to port 80, but trying to get Apache to process any data just hangs. There is nothing strange in

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
