windows 2003 can't map drives
I am running Samba Version 3.0.23a on a Solaris 10 machine. On Windows XP I can map a drive to \\www\webcal I can't do this on a WIndows 2003 machine. I get an error message stating "The drive couldn't be mapped because no network was found" I have not been able to find a solution for this. Larry

Hi, I have a vsftp server and two users for up and download. If user Alice uploads a file, the owner is set to Alice as expected "-rw-r--r-- alice ftpuploadgroup" Now Bob can login to the same folder and is able to rename the uploaded file. Bob can also rename an uploaded folder, but can't rename a file in that folder .... I'm confused, as I don't get why this is

Convert plugin
Hi, I'm trying to convert users from a sendmail server to a postfix/dovecot server. All works fine but one of the last things is to rescue the messages in /var/mail/<user> on the old server. This seems very straitforward using the convert plugin but with the settings from the wiki, nothing happens when the user logs in. Do I need a private namespace for this as suggested elsewhere

Any version client (2.6.9, 3.0.0pre1, 3.0.0pre9, 3.0.0pre10), sending to, or receiving from, a 3.0.0pre10 server, transferring files ownded by a user that exists on both boxes but with different uid's, the files do not get the user id translated on the receiver. Any version client (including 3.0.0pre10), sending to, or receiving from, a 3.0.0pre9 or lower server, works. That is, the error is dependant on the property of 3.0.0p...
