preexec, logging, and my problem
...ch the script provides relate to
the smbstatus command, and finally i know grep can be used the retreve the
appropriate information from the files, once i have it killing the process
would just terminate the login? not sure.
thanks joel for all your help but i am kinda new to this so its a bit

roaming profiles ok, but what about the printers?
...ve a little intranetwork with Samba 3.0.x as PDC. There are 20
Win2k-clients in several rooms and 18 users roaming from one machine to
another (according to their tasks). So any user has a roaming profile.
This runs almost perfect (some minor problems are still there, but the
the advantages are overwelming).
But there is one thing, I can't understand. Why does Win2k saves the
printer information (esp. the default printer) in the user area of the
registry? All my users want to print on the nearest printer they can
reach. In any room is a laser printer, every printer has a build-in
print-server...

NeXT 3.3 vs openssh-2.5.1p1 (Couldn't restore privileges)
Wanted to make openssh w/both -lwrap and BIND 8.2.3's -lbind on an m68k NeXT
3.3. Started w/then current openssh-2.3.0p1. Had to use -posix for
compiler and loader to get -lbind to work, and had to throw out all openssh
NeXT porting to get -posix to work. By the time I had it all working and
installed, a security mailing list said there was a new openssh version
released.

Upgrading Server Motherboard
I have a server running CentOS 4.2 that works as a web/email with very
heavy load. It runs Directadmin web gui which is like Cpanel. It
runs on a cheapy mATX motherboard(ECS 741GX-M) with socket A 2800+ CPU
and 2Gbyte DDR. The OS and data are on a 300Gbyte PATA maxtor drive
and data backups are run weekly to another PATA drive. The server is
overwelmed and data backups take over 5 hours to
