Prevent 'BDC' overtaking 'PDC'
Hello all,
I have 2 PC setup as PDC and BDC (both Centos5, with samba 3.0.23c-2).
The problem is, quite often client logon to BDC instead of PDC. I tried to
tweak the OS level, but seems not affecting the problem.
My understanding is that BDC will only taking charge of client logons when PDC
is unavailable. Or is it that BDC will work hand-in-hand at the same time
with PDC regarding domain

Expanding SSHKnock shell script, a few questions please
Hi all,
Another Debian Etch fan here, running shorewall (shell) 3.2.6-2 (and Yes I''m going to upgrade when Lenny goes stable).
I already have the SSHKnock working, as documented on the website:
http://www.shorewall.net/PortKnocking.html
Thanks, works great!
In addition to the knock to open 22, I want to also ADD a redirect, from 2222 to 22 on an internal box. So, when I knock on 1600

Dovecot and user's quota
Hi,
We are planning to use Dovecot-2.0.5 (Maildir format) as IMAP server.
Currently, we are using Postfix+UW-Imap (mbox format) with the following
configuration:
- Postfix: Sends new messages to /var/mail/user
- UW-IMAP: Reads mails from /var/mail/user and moves them to ~/nsmail/mbox
Using that configuration, when a user overtakes his HOME?s quota, the
MTA is still able to send new messages

Tinc 1.1pre3, 1.1pre4 hangs after some time, on win32 platform
Dear tinc members!
Recently I ran into some problems when trying to test the new tinc 1.1 builds under windows. The main problem is that the tincd daemon randomly hangs (usually in first 1-3 minutes after start). Sometimes it happens quietly, and the log does not display anything. But from time to time, there are bunch of decryption errors ("Error while decrypting: error:06065064:digital

Confidence intervals for the Instrumental Variable estimators of TWO causal effects
...ntervals (OLS, Fuller, LIML, TSLS, AR, CLR).
But both assume that there is only ONE endogenous variable for which
a confidence interval for the causal effect is needed. If there are TWO, or
more, endogenous variables, they stop and give an error.
Any idea of other R libraries which provide commands overtaking this
limitation?
Any suggestion really appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Since 2008, Microsoft staff and guests have written about R at the Revolutions

control panels, like or dislike?
When I first started using webservers I leased shared hosting. Then I
moved to vps. Then to dedicated.
In all that I was with various control panels.
In almost all cases bugs in those control panels would cause all sorts
of issues.
(ensim, cpanel, plesk).
The load on the server seemed greatly increased (especially with ensim).
When I built my first server 4 years ago I decided to heck with

I have one more question.
- We see several log messages that we dont currently understand - Can you
comment on what they mean and if they are concerning? I've obfuscated IP's
and node names so please ignore those. Our tinc daemon command is: tincd -n

IBM invests $ 10^9 in Linux, maybe they'll sponsor Vorbis?
Hello Vorbis developers,
you probably had the same idea already, but maybe IBM
is interested in sponsoring Vorbis, or being your patron.
If they are going to invest $ 10^9 in Linux, protecting
vorbis from harm, and possible injecting resources into
that project would be peanuts to them.
I don't know if IBM does anything with multimedia, but
they could only gain if strong technology in that

Ogg compared to MPC and AAC
In researching Ogg Vorbis, I have started to become aware of many other
audio formats I never knew about, such as FLAK. Well, today I have become
aware of two other formats I hadn't heard of before: MPC and AAC. Can anyone
tell me what they think of these formats in comparison to Ogg Vorbis?

Bug#536176: xen-utils-3.4: trying xen-3.4 once breaks xen-3.2 (?)
Package: xen-utils-3.4
Version: 3.4.0-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software
After installing xen-utils-3.4 besides my existing xen-3.2 system,
I could not start xend-3.2 anymore. The message I was getting is this:
"Failed to initialize dom0 state."
As far as I know, xen 3.2 and 3.4 are supposed to be able to live
peacefully on the same system. (The

Strategy for penalising IPs with too many simultaneous sessions
Hi all,
I have been trying to investigate traffic shaping in an effort to solve
the "unfriendly network apps" problem on a test network.
I have a basis by which I''d like to shape traffic, but studying the
howto doesn''t uncover and existing qdisc that seems to fit what I would
like to do.
The problem I would like to address is to prevent an IP address opening

Is SEM package of R suitable for sem analysis
Dears,
I'm a college student and In doing my statistics homework.
I use R with SEM package as my tool for sem analysis,
but my teacher told me AMOS is more suitable for such analysis.
Could someone help tell me whether it is true
that some commercial software is better accepted in academic fields?
Sorry if I should not post such topics here.

[xen-unstable test] 16014: regressions - FAIL
...his makes the logic simpler, as
semantically inappropriate values of the upper bits of the ring
pointers are simply ignored.
The same vulnerability does not exist in the ring writer because the
only use made of the unmasked value is the check which prevents the
prod pointer overtaking the cons pointer. A ring peer which defeats
this check will suffer only lost data.
However, additionally, precautions need to be taken to ensure that
req_cons and req_prod are only read once in each function. Without
the use of volatile or some asm construct, the compile...
