I try to expain with a simple example. I create a qdisc htb with only a class and then i do a lot of traffic. pc-innocenti:~# tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent root handle 1: htb default 10

iptables CLASSIFY and MARK not working?
I have to match my packets based on MAC address, which I cannot do in the POSTROUTING chain, so I do it in PREROUTING using MARK. Then, I match on the MARK in the POSTROUTING chain to do a CLASSIFY. But this does not seem to work: wireless-r1 bwlimit # iptables -L -v -n -t mangle Chain PREROUTING (policy ACCEPT 3353K packets, 941M bytes) pkts bytes target prot opt in out source

HTB/IMQ troubles (probably)
Hello, I use HTB with linux-2.4.20-ac1 and iptables-1.2.7a (pathced for IMQ). I configured one HTB qdisc on an IMQ device. This qdisc has some classes (about 5) and all of the classes has qdisc pfifo. I sometimes got out from my linux (while I was working) and I found in logs: Dec 4 11:49:27 core kernel: HTB init, kernel part version 3.7 Dec 4 11:49:28 core kernel: HTB: quantum of class

Re:Does HTB consider PRIO or not? 2
Thanks for quick reply Andreas! > Every class is allowed to use bandwidth as long as it does not have to > borrow (the specified rate is guaranteed). Prio in HTB only affects > borrowing bandwidth from other classes... In the example below, the class > 1:5 should be allowed to borrow bandwidth before 1:14 does. Thats exactly what I want from HTB to do..to prio the borrowed bandwidth.

CBQ + 802.1Q VLAN
I need to shape traffic from some IP on one LAN, but I''m in trouble. There is a linux 2.4.26 connected to the Internet (eth0) / LAN(eth1) doing NAT. I''m using VLANs in the LAN Interface, that is connected to a 3Com SuperStack II in a 802.1Q tagged port. I want to create a class that will limit the traffic at 384Kbit/s. I want to create two leaf classes that limit the traffic at
