overfilled signature lines in documentation shell for methods
...ction "Methods". Due to a slight difference in the layout and the underlying Rd code,
function signatures are wrapped on the following line (if necessary) in the "methods" section in a class description (xxx-class.Rd)
but not in xxx.-methods.Rd. As a result long signatures may overfill lines or go off the page.
For example, some entries for "[<-" are wrapped on two lines in 'Matrix-class.Rd' below and do not overfill the line, while in the second case they do.

Libpri-1.4.10.2 Released
...te download at:
http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/libpri/libpri-1.4.10.2.tar.gz
This release resolves various issues found in libpri 1.4.10.1 and
earlier versions related to scheduler events not being deleted and new
ones being created on top of them. This can cause the scheduler to be
overfilled, as well as other Q.921 related badness because of runaway
scheduled events.
Note, this can only happen when Q.931 messages are attempted to be sent
during a D-Channel state transient (D-Channel goes down and back up).

Per-directory quotas
We are running Samba right now to provide user home directories to
Windows users. We are using basic user quotas on the /home partition to
limit disk usage.
But, soon we will be adding additional directories, user, and groups to
allow data sharing among 'workgroups'. We will still need to limit disk
usage, but doing this via the rather crude group quota system won't do.

pxelinux: Doing DHCP-Release?
...ns....)
There is also a very limited DHCP-Range, which could not be extended.
(because of the subnet / IP-concept), for mobile Divices (Laptops, PDAs,
...)
Now here is my problem:
When using PXE, every Workstation would use a DHCP-Lease to boot and a
static IP when Windows is running.
This will overfill the DHCP-Range and distroy the hole IP-Concept.
So here is my question:
Is there any way to get pxelinux doing a DHCP-Release?
Great Thanks

Problem with plotting size/location on variation of star/segment plot
Dear R gurus,
I'm running into a problem with some modified segment plots I've coded
using stars(). What I am trying to do is superimpose two series of data
along with radial axes markers in a 2x2 graphics frame. This is working
fine now, except for the hitch: my plots overfill the frame and are not
centered within it (on my runs they always end up looking like they've
been budged up and to the left). They're also a little warped-looking
(more oval than perfectly round).
- I don't think this is a problem with my par() settings, as I've
checked them out a...

Conventions: Use of globals and main functions
I appreciate the well-thought-out comments.
To your first point, I am not sure what "glattering" means precisely (a Google search revealed nothing useful), but I assume it means something to the effect of overfilling the main namespace with too many names. Per Norm Matloff's counterpoint in The Art of R Programming regarding this issue, this is mostly avoided by well-defined, (sufficiently) long names. Also, when a program is properly modularized, one generally wouldn't have this many objects at the...

QoS in Linux
Hello All, I am interested in QoS provided by Linux, when I looked into IP
header I came accross ToS field, also while going more into detail about
QoS I found that the QoS based on ToS is serviced thru DiffServ which in
turn gives more priority to packets with higher value is ToS field, but I
am not able to understand when we finally call dev->hard_start_xmit

ogg123 streaming bug - cont.
Dear list,
a few weeks ago there was a short thread about ogg123 starting to
stutter (http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/200403/0043.html) and
making static noise after streaming music for more than 3.5 hours. I
have a similar problem; i used ices-2.0 to stream a playlist, and after
a couple of hours (sometimes just one hour, sometimes 5 to 8 hours) i
get noise or stutter.
Now one thing i

strange quota behaviour with dovecot 1.1.7
...e the entry in mailboxsize, dovecot writes the old value in again.
Seems that dovecot isn?t looking in the MySQL table (but it did after creating the account). But why are mails accepted again if dovecot is not recognizing the raised quota??
If I try now, as a user, to delete mails from the "overfilled" Inbox, it is denied with a "quota exceeded" message. But I?m able to send further mails to this account. The only way to get the account working properly again is to delete the messages directly on the server?s filesystem.
I?m very grateful for every hint!

aixtools.xz.5.0.8.0.aix537.I
Note: the aixtools.xz (lzma support) was a surprise, as the internal one
did not link properly, for some reason (all in the file,
not included here, but available at:
http://download.aixtools.net/test/R/build-freshstart.text (Trying to not

Also note, in the file there is a segmentation fault, core dump, but
does not halt the build. Maybe this has been around on my previous
builds on AIX 5.3 and 7.1 - but not noticed.
I did struggle for a few days with a buggy bos.adt.libm on AIX 7.1

[RFC] Using Intel MPX to harden SafeStack
...lag also causes the runtime library to be linked [5].
Due to BND0 being treated as per-thread state, the runtime library picks an initial BND0 upper bound when the program starts that is arbitrarily set to be 256MiB below the base of the initial (safe) stack. If and when that 256MiB space becomes overfilled by safe stacks, the program will crash due to a failing CHECK_GE statement in the runtime library. Without this check, an adversary may be able to modify a variable in the runtime library recording the address of the most-recently allocated safe stack to cause safe stacks to be allocated in vuln...
