Good Bye SAMBA?!?!?
Hi list
I am sad, today! I start to study how windows deal with CIFS, Active
Directory and DFS, I just decide follow the other path!
I will give a try to windows tools....
The question is: why Linux doesn t have such tools to help and improve
server deployments?!?
Everything will be easier than go to linux console and try and try and try
and nothing happen!
So, for now on, I will use Windows

...ty of hd,
so cross-compile (I don't remember details from my LFS days) is
reasonable.
3) I am already subscribed to the developer's list if that is needed (I
think, don't recall if I saw anything from there).
4) DOWNSIDE (maybe more?) Karnbir might have to tolerate my occasional
short outbursts of humor as they help extend the lifespan of various
pieces of equipment in my little nook. I'll let that go someday when I
have milked it for all I think it's worth. ;-)
5) Additional delay because I'm reading studiously trying to learn
new/updated admin related stuff. It seems that s...

Good Bye SAMBA?!?!?
Ok!!! This is just a way to open a discussion. I really enjoy Linux and
samba, zimbra, and all others free stuff...
But we need face the facts: the market just want quickly response for their
needs!!!!
I am working harding for weeks to make things work properly to implement
samba and glusterfs and ZFS , to deploy storage sincronization between two
servers.
Today I just install Windows 2012 R2 and

DNS problem
Hello,
Today I restarted the firewall machine during an outage of the ADSL line
overhere. At the boot Shorewall did not start but stopped during start.
The problem was that the ADSL line was down so no DNS server available
to resolve hostnames. I have a hostname in "blacklist" file and
therefore shorewall did not start. Is this problem solvable without
putting an IP address in the

Not to be a bitch, but I've asked several times about some basic
questions or examples to clarify the essentials for configuration.
What do some of the parameters mean? Expecially the ones that are
mentioned only one in a paragraph and no where else in the documentation
or wiki. (ie: login_process_per_use)
And there have been a few others as well. that I won't bother to repeat.

exactly. thanks for writing it up, nick.
the only thing i'd add is the notion that
tables should be copyfit to the viewport.

give the columns some breathing space.
if not, tighten them as much as needed.
