Usrname map and Windows ACLs question
...ser.map
Create the /usr/local/samba/etc/user.map file with the following content:
!root = SAMDOM\Administrator/
/If you are using samba v4.13.14 or later you will also need to add the
following to allow mapping to the root user: min domain uid = 0/
Actually, our user.map file contains:
/!root = OURDOM\Administrator OURDOM\administrator Administrator
administrator/
After the server was joined, we used
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_Windows_ACLs.
Shares could be configured and used correctly.
But, with? "/username map"/ option setted, RSAT "Sessions&q...

Usrname map and Windows ACLs question
Hi!. I've already read that really useful notebook. Thanks for it.
Sadly, I couldn't find any differences.
All seems work OK without "username map" but as soon as I map
OURDOM\Administrator to root v?a "username map",? I lost "Sessions" and
"Open files" in RSAT, so I would like to know if I miss something
without that mapping.
Does RSAT sessions and Open Files work with YOURDOM\Administrator mapped
to root in your infraestructure?
Thank...

Accessing printer from outside the domain
We need to give a user in another domain access to our printer:
our domain: OURDOM (samba)
other domain: OTHERDOM (AD?)
user's workstation: \\OTHERDOM\WKSTN, in other domain
printer: in our domain
user: JOEBLOW - an account in each domain with the same login/password
We're getting this error in wkstn.log:

NT domain logon questions
...ds seem to be working, a la smbclient and mostly
from NT, "mostly" because it *seemed* to be working but we did
have some problems with home directories in smbpasswd changing
and smbd not recognizing it. But that's really of no concern
at the moment :)
When we try to join the domain OURDOM (was NTFREE, now's it NITWIT)
the NT 4 WS hangs for a bit and then says "The domain server could
not be located."
Samba writes a lot of stuff to the log file, and most of it
really isn't very interesting to me, but the following seemed
like an *error* that didn't seem covere...

According to LDAP the SambaDomainName SID is
S-1-5-21-900663976-1457140431-1537874043. Is there meant to be some
correlation between the Domain SID and the group list?
net rpc info -UAdministrator -S MyPDC
Enter Administrator's password:
Domain Name: OurDom
Domain SID: S-1-5-21-900663976-1457140431-1537874043
Sequence number: 2946
Num users: 117
Num domain groups: 3
Num local groups: 0
Can anyone offer some guidance please?
Thanks,
