voicepulse "silence" during conversations
Hi all, I'm running Asterisk 1.0.0. I am a customer ( and supporter )
of voicepulse. For me, it works perfectly, but one of my customers
noticed a small problem: During a conversation, when the otherside
isn't talking, it's almost like the mic turns off.
Not that big of a deal I know, and the more I think about it, the more
this seems a voicepulse issue. But in the off chance this could be
something on my end:
Asterisk 1.0.0
Connecting to voicepulse via iax, ulaw codec

tdm410p w/ echo - no full duplex
...hen i talk, it cuts out the other end. So for example, i
called up another asterisk box and was listening to the prompts and as
they were playing if i said something, it would cut out the other end.
so i basically started counting and for the 20 seconds i counted,
nothing came through from the otherside.
i tried from multiple phones and this didnt happen with the old tdm400.
is this an issue with the card? Is it because zaptel has mg2 on? Does
than mean i am using 2 echo cancellers? the hardware one and the mg2?
how should this be set? also, it says "echo canceller could not be

Forward some traffic to VPN
...ewall and freeswan).
I have successfully set up a tunnel between the two network (using a
point to point topology, not hub).
I added a static routing that redirect 203.7.93.94 to ipsec0. It seems
the packet goes to ipsec0 but lost. I can''t get anything from the ulog
of the other side. (the otherside policy is set to trust dmz->vpn, and
vpn->dmz, just for testing.)
Is there any rule I can put in the rules file to do the job? Or I should
put a manual iptables script? Could someone give a hint? Thanks a lot.

* with cisco 7960G
hi!
I've got cisco 7960G working with * box. Calls could be Blind Xfered through the phone but not the supervised transfer( Message on the phone: Transfer failed). Even when I put the caller on hold and resume it later, I can't hear the other side but the otherside can hear me. (It shows as the line is connected though. Yet the respective caller entry blinks.)
Any suggestions most welcome!!!
denzel.

efficiency issue with rsync.....
Hi rsync team,
I thought that rsync would try to overlap computing and IO on both
machines.
I'm rsyncing a large tree (18G) and am keeping an eye on that.
Suddenly my side completely stopped. No IO visible, no CPU
time spent. The otherside was doing 100% CPU. Then the other
side started to do disk IO. Then suddenly the activities moved
over to my side, and I saw things moving again in the "-v --progress"
output.
The transfer happened to hit my "spam" mailbox, 400Mb of mostly-stable
data. I probably rewrote the m...

Thats a strange argument, since up until recently home/sbu routers did not
come with 256/512MB ram, had USB3/sata3 ports and dual core arm cpu's.
All the above points are basically what i have now on my WRT-1200AC running
openWRT.
I use the latest 4.4.4 kernel +...

Problem with call pickup
...m another set, the *8 code keeps being displayed
in my screen (Snom 220).
I would like it to show the phonenumber of the person calling me.
- When a caller that I've answered through Call-Pickup disconnects, my phone
does not close the connection but acts like there is still someone on the
otherside. (Logging shows dat de Zap/channel has cleared, but not the
SIP/channel)
I use Asterisk 1.0.2-BRIstuffed-0.2.0-RC2
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Extremely poor write performance, but read appears to be okay
Hello,
I'm writing from the otherside of the world from where my systems are,
so details are coming in slow. We have a 6TB OCFS2 volume across 20 or
so nodes all running OEL5.4 running ocfs2-1.4.4. The system has worked
fairly well for the last 6-8 months. Something has happened over the
last few weeks which has driven write performanc...

The sad state of samba 4 adaption for home/small business routers.
Hi,
i would like to inspire a discussion on why samba4 has nearly no adaption on
home/small business routers firmware.
I recently switched from my old Asus-N16 running tomato to a WRT-1200AC and
was researching potential firmware's that i could run. We have a new
synology disk-station at work that runs Samba 4.x and it works great. So i
was surprised to notice that 3 years after the 4.0

[Bridge] Destination Host Unreachable
Hopefully this is a simple answer. I am new to setting up bridges on a
linux system. Here is what I have set up:
Laptop directly connected to the eth0 port on the bridge (A Soekris 4521
board). The otherside of the bridge is a wirelass lan card (SMC2532b-w)
as wlan0. The wlan0 is setup in managed mode to communicate to my test
ap2000.
When I do a 'brctl showmacs br0' on the bridge it shows a bunch of mac
addresses. So, I beleive the problem of using a wireless card is not
relevant in this...

zfs send hangs
My zfs filesystem hangs when transferring large filesystems (>500GB)
with a couple dozen snapshots between servers using zfs send/receive
with netcat. The transfer hangs about halfway through and is
unkillable, freezing all IO to the filesystem, requiring a hard
reboot. I have attempted this three times and failed every time.
On the destination server I use:
nc -l -p 8023 | zfs receive -vd sas

What does viridian=1 do?
Hi
I''m wondering what does viridian=1 option actually does? I installed Xen
3.4.1 from Gitco''s and installed Windows 2008 R2 (standard) server,
64-bit, which supposed is hyper-v aware? But looking device manager i dont
see anything special, still all using emulation drivers. Should i install
Hyper-V IC?

On the otherside windind shouln't require to be the only one in
nss-setup as i didn't ever heard, that only a certain amount can be
taken into the stack. Before nss_sss we used nss_ldap alongside with
nss_winbind without issues.
The only interaction i could imagine if one of the libs in the stack

Live migration not permanent?
Hi,
I tried to do live migration from machine A to B. After the migration, machine A still had the record of the VM, though the VM was not running any more. Also, if I shut down the VM on machine B, its record on B would be gone --- I could not see it using "xm list" anymore. However, I can still start the VM on machine A using "xm start".
Looks like the migration just move
