...that with authority. I would, however,
encourage anyone intending to express interest to ask about anything
that might be a concern -- preferably during the interview process.
My bias would be to favor someone who wishes to encourage greater use of
FreeBSD within Juniper (vs. greater use of other OSen); as indicated
above, that's unlikely to be a significant factor for those who make the
actual decision(s).

Patch: ogg123 playing >2GB sized files
...s with large files on my FreeBSD
system -- though, as noted, I need to play through an entire >4GB
file to make sure there aren't any undiscovered problems. (Some
other utilities like `ogginfo' may need attention, or it could be
that I simply haven't rebuilt them.)
As always, other OSen may have problems with other patches I've
already sent, so those need to be massaged into portability.
And as noted, playing such a file tends to overflow the allotted
space on the status line, but a fix for that isn't quite as easy
as I had hoped, now having dug around in the source. Oh...

If Wine isn't am emulator how does it work
Sorry about this noob question, but this is something that has been boring
me. So Wine is a compatibly layer that tricks windows based apps into
working on Linux. But isn't that what an emulator does? I know emulators
more typically visualize the hardware which uses more recesses, but there
are also high level emulators which just create the environment.
isn't any software that tricks a

Various Ogg Vorbis largefile notes and/or patches
Greetings one and all;
I'm not subscribed to this list so I'm first sending this message
to verify that mails from me make it through, and then later I'll
send the juicy messages with patches. Also, the address I'm using
is IPv6-only and doesn't often work, so drop me from any replies
and I'll catch the archives, or drop only the hostname part to get
an IPv4 address that

src/net/resolver.c patches for better IPv6 resolution
...er with this at all? (For example, should resolver_getname()
verify that what it's returning is in fact a hostname and not garbage?)
<p>Anyway, the patch. I'm sure there's a better way to do this, as
I don't know what I'm doing, so I'd like to know what IPv6-capable
OSen aren't able to get proper results -- it appears to work on my
FreeBSD machine... Did I say I have no clue what I'm doing yet?

SAS/short stroking vs. SSDs for ZIL
Hi,
as I have learned from the discussion about which SSD to use as ZIL
drives, I stumbled across this article, that discusses short stroking
for increasing IOPs on SAS and SATA drives:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/short-stroking-hdd,2157.html
Now, I am wondering if using a mirror of such 15k SAS drives would be a
good-enough fit for a ZIL on a zpool that is mainly used for file
