[ANNOUNCE] Prebuilt Xen PV-HVM templates.
...d PVOPS dom0.
This was brought up late last year as something that would make Xen
alot easier for beginners to try.
They are also great for testing - I will be setting up some stuff to
do automatic testing of distro kernel compatibility against
xen-unstable.
Mirror page is here:
http://mirror.orionvm.com.au
You can browse what stuff I will be mirroring here:
http://mirror.orionvm.com.au/pub/
Initially there is Debian 6, CentOS 6.2 and Ubuntu 12.04 available
(the final beta, will be updated to final shortly).
Included is an OS image, a config file, a README and the associated
licences etc...

Re: Reg PV-HVM templates
...hen manage.
This is quite possible but I don''t know much about SolusVM.
What you would need to do is:
1. Boot the VM in pure HVM mode (without xen_platform_pci enabled).
2. Install the guest operating system.
3. Apply the changes listed in the bottom of the README file here:
http://mirror.orionvm.com.au/pub/ubuntu/1204/README
4. Reboot the VM into PVonHVM mode (xen_platform_pci=1)
That is the rough outline though I don''t know how if SolusVM gives you
all the settings required.
These templates are made for use specifically with a raw Xen.org hypervisor.
I will create a wiki articl...

DRBD, Xen, HVM and live migration
Hi,
I want to combine all the above mentioned technologies.
The Linbit pages warn not to use the drbd: VBD with HVM DomUs.
This page however:
http://publications.jbfavre.org/virtualisation/cluster-xen-corosync-pacemaker-drbd-ocfs2.en
(thank you Jean), simply puts two DRBD devices in dual primary mode and
starts Xen DomUs while pointing to the DRBD devices with phy: in the
DomU config files.

Windows 7 as guest on a physikal disk
Hallo,
I have an installed Windows 7 on one partition
and running Debain Squeeze on the other. Both are 64 bit.
I want to use Xen to run Windows as virtual guest from
a physical disk. Once I get this working the Window will
never be booted directly.
When I try to create the virtual machine by
"xm create -c win.xen"
it hangs.
The versions I use

Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Hello everyone,
I''m quite a newbie with Xen and I''m currently having an issue.
I run Xen 4 on Debian Squeeze x64 and I''m trying to build an OpenFiler DomU from the Xen domU filesystem tarbal they provide (See http://www.openfiler.com/community/download/).
I downloaded the tarball and run ''tar xzpvf /root/soft/openfiler-2.3-x86_64.tar.gz'' to extract

Removing second boot menu
On debian. When I boot a non-xen kernel i get the standard grub menu with 3 lines, Linux, Linux safe mode and xen.
When I boot the xen kernel, I get another grub menu with 2 lines, the Linux and the safe mode one.
What can I do to make the second menu go away or have a timeout of zero?
Thanks

This is probably quite a vague and simple question but here goes...Can

for the virtual switching (Vif/Pif'')? This is the first time i have worked
with the Xen source code so struggling to work my way around the system.
Thanks very much!!

XEN HA Cluster with LVM fencing and live migration ? The right way ?
Hi,
I am trying to build a rock solid XEN High availability cluster. The
platform is SLES 11 SP1 running on 2 HP DL585 both connected through HBA
fiber channel to the SAN (HP EVA).
XEN is running smoothly and I''m even amazed with the live migration
performances (this is the first time I have the chance to try it in such a
nice environment).
XEN apart the SLES heartbeat cluster is

DomU clock out of sync
Hey all,
I was watching some logs on a domU today and i suddenly noticed that the
timestamps were off by something on the order of 47 seconds. I was
surprised because *I don''t* run independent wall clocks. I checked
some other domUs and the "drift" was also very close to that of the
first domU.
I also checked another dom0, Here the domUs were "only" out of sync by

Network with xen 4.2
Hallo Mailinglist:),
i used xen 4.1 with xend xm a while. I compiled the unstable 4.2 today and most thinks run fine :). I have only one big problem, the network for my guestsystems. It don't want to work. Hopefully somebody can help me.
In Xen 4.1 i only wrote the following line in my questconfig:
vif = [ "bridge=eth0,script=vif-bridge" ]
And everything works fine. This does not

Xen 4.1.0, multiple network interfaces, network-bridge failing to create multiple bridges
Hi *,
having built Xen 4.1.0 and running my Dom0 on Slackware 13.1, I''m
trying to assign different physical network interfaces to different
DomU guests:
vif = [ ''bridge=ethX'' ]
in the DomU configuration files.
My /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge script, however, doesn''t create more
than one bridge:

Are there source codes for Xen-IB?
Hi,
I found a link: http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/xen-smartio.hg for Xen-IB
source codes, but it did''t exist anymore.
Are there other ways to get the Xen-IB source codes?
Thanks.

Fully-Virtualized XEN domU not Booting over iSCSI
Hello,
I am currently trying to move my VMs from running on local host storage to
a shared storage (trying out iSCSI) but I am
facing a bit of a booting dilemma.
The domUs are a mix of paravirtualized and fully-virtualized VMs. They all
boot and run like clockwork when on local
storage.
The paravirtualized domUs appear not to have a problem when I relocate and
boot them from the shared storage
