Narrow escape with FAULTED disks
Nothing like a "heart in mouth moment" to shave tears from your life.
I rebooted a snv_132 box in perfect heath, and it came back up with two FAULTED disks in the same vdisk group.
Everything an hour on Google I found basically said "your data is gone".
All 45Tb of it.
A postmortem of fmadm showed a single disk failed with smart predictive failure.
No indication why the

It seems to work ok with the same audible quality as a
standard sampling rate. Is there any way to test this?
Will superimposing an inverse wave over the origional
produce a meaningfull result? Thanks for your time,

This is not correct, or at least is not meant to be. icecast2 is meant to
be able to accept connections from ICY sources. Some people,

Applying game patches.
Hi all,
I've downloaded and installed Wine specifically to play Warhammer 40k,
Dawn of War. I checked out the app database first and the signs were
good, my version of Linux (Debian Sarge) was reported as working
(although the installer had been tested)
I ran the installer, and it appeared to work fine (although it only
asked for the 1st disk) but when I try and run it, it asks for the

Warhammer 40k
According to the appdb
(http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=1918), Warhammer 40k
should work almost flawlessy, however I am unable to even get the game
to run.
I'n installed the game on a Windows laptop (that's not up to running
the game) and copied that across. When I try and run it, the game
either complains that there is no cd in the drive, or that I must

altering revert effect based on if dropped on given droppable?
...en droppable?
What I need to do is when an image is dragged onto a droppable image I
want the drop image to be replaced with the drag image, the drag image
to fade out and then reappear where it was at the start of the drag, as
opposed to the draggable scrolling across the page back to where it was
origionally if it wasn''t dropped in the correct place
this is my droppable code:

vcut breaks song index ? XMMS search fails
Hello
I have experienced some problems with vcut
(media-sound/vorbis-tools-1.0-r1 package from Gentoo/Linux).
I have a long live record I have encoded in OGG (maybe it would have
been easier to cut the WAV file and encode the parts, but still). The
file was encoded with oggenc from the same package as vcut.
I have therefore tried to use vcut to split the long OGG file in
several smaller files.

problem with trustrpid
...box to our voip provider
is setup the call has the following sip headers:
From: "From Phone" <sip:5147714203 at 10.0.0.24>;tag=as73d69a8f.
Remote-Party-ID: "From Phone"
<sip:5147714203 at 10.0.0.24>;privacy=off;screen=no.
Shouldnt the Remote-Party-ID stay what I origionally set it to?
in sip.conf for the phone I have set "trustrpid=yes"
and for our provider I have "sendrpid=yes"
I am using asterisk 1.6.0.10
Thanks Alot

yes there is:
go to your diablo ii installation dir. ( Program Files\Diablo ii )
then type something like:

Asterisk SIP calls failing - not a proxy? What of RTP codec transcoding?
I have an Asterisk 0.4.0 install working with two grandstream budgetone
100 phones, gnophone, and kphone. This is a private network segment
(172.17.x.x), with the PBX configured on my outbound firewall which has
a public address (66.x.x.x).
- I can make calls between phones - all extensions are working.
- I can make IAX calls to IAXTEL. No problems (apparently gsm only)
- I can call SIP phone

Splitting a Vector
Hi all,
I read in a text book, that you can examine a variable that is colinear
with others, and giving different ANOVA output and explanatory power
when ordered differently in the model forula, by modelling that
explanatory variable, against the others colinear with it. Then, using
that information to split the vector (explanatory variable) in question,
into two new vectors, one should

Moving wine's C: drive to another file system
I have a question regarding moving Wine's C:/ drive to another file system. My hard drive is currently partitioned into 3 primaries. I have a NTFS partition that Windows is on, a Ext4 with Ubuntu, and a third, larger, FAT32 partition that I use to hold cross-OS data (music, pictures, documents ect).
I have had infinite difficulty getting wine to run apps that I installed (through wine) to my

Re: Problems with Excel & MS Word files (EVEN - still ANY ideas?)
...given smbd process hangs, it appears as though the process
itself is tied up in some sort of loop or something and becomes
un-responsive; the client tries to auto-reconnect and does so spawning a new
'duplicate' session to the first. Problem herein is two fold; first, the
smbd process they origionally conencted with is still running, and still
maintains the file locks for the file they are accessing, secondly, the smbd
process maintains 100% cpu time (as the O/S allows anyhow, not lagging the
servers thankfully).
So, we keep running into an issue (usually with Microsoft Excel or Word
documents)...

time out issues with icecast2
I was a bit confused by that statement as well Lee. I've done a bit of work
with mp3PRO using a source developed from scratch and a version of the
original Icecast modified only trivially to deal with specific metadata
requirements.
There is a very high level explanation of mp3PRO at the
http://www.mp3prozone.com/basics.htm site. At the risk of being somewhat
incomplete i will add:
1) The
