ORACM upgrade question - ORA-29702
Hi: I'm not sure if this is the right place to post. I've just joined some of these lists following OOW 2003. I had a cluster db working sporadically, but now it won't start after upgrading my oracm from 9.2.0.1.0.31 to 9.2.0.2.0.41 on both nodes. node1 RH 7.3 kernel 2.4.20-rc2-orafw oracm 9.2.0.2.0.41 oracle 9.2.0.2.0 OCFS-1.0-up node2 RH 8.0 kernel 2.4.20-rc2-orafw oracm 9.2.0.2.0.41 oracle 9.2.0.2.0 OCFS-1.0-up When I try to startup Oracle on either node I get this error: -- SQL>...

My node is restarted when running OCFS
...tchset 9.2.0.4. And I can start the cluster manager on both nodes using Suse "rcoacle start" command provide by the orarun package. My problem is: when I start Oracle cluster manager on one node (or both nodes), the node is restarted after a few minutes. When I don't start Oracm, I don't have this problem. And verifying the content of the cluster manager log file (/opt/oracle/product/9ir2/oracm/cm.log) does not show me any problem. Where can I find the system's log file? Any idea??? That is my last step before installing Oracle RAC Thanks. Jean --------...

Oracle 9i RAC on OCFS2
Hi, I'm setting up a 2-node Oracle 9i RAC on OCFS2. But I have some problems with understanding how the shared Oracle_Home is being used. For instance there is the *$ORACLE_HOME/oracm/admin/cmcfg.ora* file. The $ORACLE_HOME is on the SAN so the 2 nodes have access to this file. How will the settings then be done per node? Is there a guide/tutorial/howto for installing Oracle 9i RAC on OCFS2 with shared Oracle_Home's? Or is it better to just install it without shared Ora...

Cannot connect to cluster manager
Hi again, It seems that I have a problem again. When I startup the database, it has an error: ORA-29701: cannot connect to Cluster Manager. 1. I have started the the cluster manager, and ps -ef shows that watchdog and and oracm is running. 2. I've looked into the cm.log, and it seems that both nodes have registered successfully. Sure could use some help. Thanks. Warm regards, Faisal

question about oracle shared home install
...my understanding, OCFS2 supports shared home installs which to my knowledge is not only can i have datafile and control files but also clustermanager files and binaries (pretty much everything: no files or executables need to kept local to any nodes). I have one single shared file for $ORACLE_HOME/oracm/admin/cmcfg.ora for both the nodes. cat cmcfg.ora ClusterName=Oracle Cluster Manager, version 9i MissCount=620 PrivateNodeNames=sunny1prv sunny2prv PublicNodeNames=sunny1pub sunny2pub ServicePort=9998 CmDiskFile=/u01/oradata/orcl/cmquorumfile HostName=sunny1pub KernelModuleName=hangcheck-timer I...

ORA-01207 after SAN maintenance
We had a situation over the weekend with our production database that we can't figure out, hoping someone can shed some light.
