Cross-compiling asterisk-1.4 for Debian on a slug
...t to compile it natively on this slow processor, i need
a cross-compile toolchain. I tried out several ways such as manually
compiling binutils and gcc, or using scratchbox. All of these with the
result that i got binaries for machines except the one i wanted! :(
I then have been given a link to a optware tree specific to Debian on
the slug[1]. I tried to compile, but at the first attempt, it stopped
with this cruft:
dlfcn.c:1225: error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
dlfcn.c:1225: error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type

Cross Compile Samba4
Hi,
I try to port samba4beta8 to Optware which includes cross compiling it
for various platforms. I already created makefiles for optware for samba
versions 3.4 and 3.6. Creating a working makefile for samba4 I try to
use the new build environment but it puzzles me. I don't get over part
where the python version is being checked....

: error while loading shared libraries: libdovecot.so.0 (arm cross compile)
Hi.
I've made a new attempt at build Dovecot. The build and then install
processes appeared to work find. Then when I try to run Dovecot it
reports the error:
/share/MD0_DATA/optware/opt/sbin/dovecot: error while loading shared
libraries: libdovecot.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory
To get a better idea of what's going on, I added --enable-devel-checks at
./configure and then ran gdb:
# gdb --args dovecot -F
GNU gdb 6.8

testing samba 4 alongside samba 3
...that the major difference between both:
samba 3X is a nt-style domain. You have to work hard to distribute gpos by
writing own scripts.
Samba 4 ia a ADS style domain. GPOs on the fly and nearly everything else
like ADS.
By the way, since quite a challenge to recompile anything for the NAS
(NSLU2 (Optware)) I found way to chroot Debian on my NAS.
So basically I chroot Dabian and installed the samba master in it, having
amba3.6 and samba 4. Afterwards I have to redirect the paths etc. to the
samba application, I more or less right?
thx

Plexus UPS on a QNAP NAS
Hi,
Has anyone managed to get a Plexus UPS talking to their NAS. I've followed
the excellent instructions here http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=182
<http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=182&t=35970&start=0> &t=35970&start=0
but I'm not there yet.
When I manually start upsdrvctl without the UPS plugged in I get
[~] # /usr/bin/upsdrvctl start

thanks - this has been fun.
There is one other thing I have been having trouble with - and i've tried it on
two archlinuxarm installs and gotten the same thing. i am not even sure if its
important for me. but if i try to configure and make with neon support - it cant
find the neon libraries. despite neon having been installed several
different ways (i tried pacman, as well as compiling
