Optimum online-upload throttling confirmed.
Hello All,
I was recently fighting with an optimum online connection in NY.
I finally got in touch with someone that confirmed they are throttling
my upload connection.
I just wanted to make everyone aware of it, so if you have problems if
your ping times jump erratically, this could be the cause.
Their suggestions were, although you can upload a lot, do not do it
constantly. They do not want

Problem: samba refuse my user with error message : NT_STATUS_NO_ SUCH_USER
Hi all,
I'm trying to make samba authenticate to my Active Directory
Domain. I already configured and tested Kerberos5 and joined my machine to
my domain with no problems, getent passwd and group give me the correct
output also wbinfo give a good output too, and I can logon using my domain
user to SSH and to my server console, so I assume my Kerberos config is
correct. Also I

Data handling/optimum glm method.
Hi there,
I am trying to fit a generalised linear model to some loan application and default data. The purpose of this is to eventually work out the probability an applicant will default.
However, R seems to crash or die when I run "glm" on anything greater than a 5-way saturated model for my data.
My first question: is the best way to fit a generalised linear model in R to fit the

Request: Optimum value of cost complexity parameter "k" in "tree" package
Dear R community
I have a question regarding the value of cost complexity parameter "k" used in "tree" package for pruning purpose. Any help in finding the optimum value of "k" is requested. Please give some suggestion in this regard. In the example below i used k=0 but i don't know why? But if i use k=NULL, then it will not plot the resultant tree.

Optimum Block Size to use
Hi All
We use CentOS 6.6 for our application. I have profiled the application
and find that we have a heavy requirement in terms of Disk writes. On an
average when our application operates at a certain load i can observe
that the disk writes / second is around 2 Mbps (Average).
The block size set is 4k

FXO port trhoug optimum voice VOIP service
Hello,
I have asterisk running on Fedora Core 3 with a x100p
(oem). After some time I got asterisk with some soft
extensions working (u gotta love open source), but I'm
stuck with outbound dialing. This is the diagnose:
- detect 1 wcfxo channel.
- when trying to make an outside call I get unable to
create channel of type Zap. Everyone is busy/congested
at this time
- When I plug the x100p

Effectively using a telco Type 102 Milliwatt Test line with ztmon itor -v to set txgain/rxgain in zapata?
I am trying to obtain optimum gain settings for a bank of analog lines
connected to a channel bank. My telco has provided a 'Type 102' test line to
use for incoming level calibration. This is functionally equivalent to app
Milliwatt(), but provides tone from the CO inwards.
Question is, how should one use this a 0dbm test source with ztmonitor? Am I
correct in understanding that a 0dbm

How to test impact of candidate changes to package?
I use a package to contain simple functions that can be handled by unit tests for correctness and more complex functions that combine the simple functions with business logic. Where there are proposals to change either the simple functions or the business logic, a sample needs to be run before the change and then after it to understand the impact of the change.
I do this currently by

Initial thought is, do you really care? 2Mbps

request for optimum setup configuration
hi,
I am required to take text/doc files uploaded to a share/directory in a
static ip, do some processing on this queue, convert the file format and
save the results in a directory for it to be downloaded (or I could
upload the same to another share/folder in another static ip).
volume of files is about 1-5 files/second of about 50KB to 100KB each
and the converting and delivery has to be in

OT: Optimum voice problems.
I'm trying to figure out if I'm the only one with these problems with them.
I recently had a few customers that switched to them because of the
price, of course that means that they have to use FXO ports, but it is
realy cheaper, so customers don't really care.
In any case, there are 2 issues that I can't get solved, and they are
not interested in helping.

convergence in polr
Hello splus-users, I am trying to fit a regression model for an ordered
response factor. So I am using the function polr in library(MASS). My data
is a matrix of 1665 rows and 63 columns (one of the column is the dependent
variable). The code I use is polr(as.ordered(q23p)~.,data=newdatap)
but I am getting the following warning message singularity encountered in:

"C:\ping www.google.com -f -l 1472" and then do for trial and error to find
the optimum size . Can you please do me favor and let me know what is the
equivalent of "ping -f -l" on the CentOS server ?
Let me thank you in advance

Constrined dependent optimization.
I have an optimization question that I was hoping to get some suggestions on how best to go about sovling it. I would think there is probably a package that addresses this problem.
This is an ordering optimzation problem. Best to describe it with a simple example. Say I have 100 "bins" each with a ball in it numbered from 1 to 100. Each bin can only hold one ball. This optimization is

ROCR predictions
Hi everybody,
I am having a problem building a ROC curve with my data using the ROCR
package.
I have 10 lists of proteins such as attached (proteinlist.xls). each of the
lists was calculated with a different p-value.
The goal is to find the optimal p-value for the highest number of true
positives as well as lowaest number of false positives.
As far as I understood the explanations from the

offend anyone being that this is kind of branching into hosting, and
maybe outside of the remit of this list.

Quisiera saber cuanto es el tamaño máximo de datos contenidos en mi base de
