36 FPS using ubuntu-classic desktop, drops to 4 FPS xubuntu
Hello Recently upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04 and not liking unity I swtiched to xubuntu but was perturbed to find my World of Warcraft FPS drop from 36 FPS in Ubuntu 10.10 and Ubuntu 11.04 'ubuntu classic' down to 3/4 FPS xubuntu. Again, to confirm it wasn't anything in the upgrade I made sure that the FPS is as normal in 11.04 when I select 'Ubuntu Classic' when logging in rather

uefi and bios bootable optical media
We have been using syslinux (V4.05) in our product for years without a problem. Since we encounter more and more systems that do a UEFI boot by default we want to support that too. So I've been using syslinux V6.03 to create usb sticks and harddisks to allow both bios and uefi boot which works fine. The problem I run into now is that it is not possible to create a dvd that is capable of

Chinese optical character recognition
Hello! I'm interested in getting a Chinese optical character recognition program to run under wine. http://www.twinbridge.com/Products/SharpEye/ocr.html According to the web site, it may run on Windows 95 as well as the old Windows 3. Is it therefore safe to assume that it will run under wine? Surely it should be able to handle anything that can run on Windows 3 right? Any advice will

syslinux mkisofs hard-disk-boot isohybrid
when you say """ Unfortunately, syslinux.efi v.6.03 is not capable of booting optical """, you talk about isolinux.bin ? because my iso image with a "good" alternate eltorito boot image (eg. "uefi ready") is booting with qemu (qemu -cdrom core.iso -bios uefi.fd) and is also booting in hard disk mode (qemu -hda core.iso -bios uefi.fd). Le mercredi
