Problems with Outlook clients after a migration
...I'm doing the final tests before I migrate my 10000 users from RHEL 4 + dovecot 1.1.20 to RHEL5 + dovecot 1.2.11, and I'm having some serious problems with outlook 2007 clients disconnecting very often. In dovecot's log I see lot of connects and disconnects from these clients (as oposed to my kmail, that just connects once when I come in and disconnects when I shut it off). After unchecking the "chek every X minutes" thing in outlook I get fewer of those -while functionality remains-, but the main problem still persists: every now and then (more or less 30 mins), the...

Is ''publish'' proxy arp still broken ?
Can''t get proxy arp with arp -s <IPaddr> <MACaddr> pub to work with a 2.4 kernel. I see some evidence in the archive that this was broken in the 2.0.x timeframe and never fixed. Anyone know for sure if it''s broken or working ? (I''m attempting to route a few addresses into a routed network, from the ethernet side of a DSL router that has a /29 public

sshd and pam , conversation
I have setup openssh with hostbased authentication on linux (redhat). I want to allow/deny users based on a listfile, so i have a PAM module that does that, and it runs in the "account" section (oposed to pam_listfile.so, that uses the "auth" section - it wouldt work because with hostbased authentication openssh ignores the "auth" section). It's working perfectly, but i also want to display a message to those users that are denied login, so i modified pam_motd to wor...

feature request: modify getrrsetbyname() to use libunbound
...this way, the standard mode of operation for ssh remains unchanged by default. Users who would like to use SSHFP records in a secure manner would set the configuration directive. Please find attached a preliminary patch that modifies getrrsetbyname() to use libunbound rather than libc. We have proposed [2] this modification to the Debian openssh package maintainers. Knowing that they (and we, too, frankly) would prefer the modification to be adopted by upstream, I've subscribed to the openssh-unix-dev list to begin the discussion (I've carbon copied my DSA colleagues and the openssh pack...

rsync 1tb+ each day
I am rsyncing 1tb of data each day. I am finding in my testing that actually removing the target files each day then rsyncing is faster than doing a compare of the source->target files then rsyncing over the delta blocks. This is because we have a fast link between the two boxes, and that are disk is fairly slow. I am finding that the creation of the temp file (the 'dot file') is
