XCP and OpenXenCenter
I just noticed OpenXenCenter (aka OpenXenManager) that is an open source replacement for Citrix's XenCenter. This tool works with XenServer. But as per the blog entry: http://blog.xen.org/index.php/2010/02/09/xen-cloud-platform-installation/ it is also supposed to work with Xen Cloud Platform. XCP is licensed GPL2 and i...

XCP: VM installation in XCP 0.5 is behaving strangely
Hi, all I''m totally new to XCP, so maybe i misunderstood the documentation. I tried to create Debian Squeeze (64-bit) and Ubuntu 10.04 from templates and install them from network installation. For Debian Squeeze (64-bit), I did the followings: 1. First ssh login into XCP host 2. xe vm-install template="Debian Squeeze (64-bit)" new-name-label=lenny-64-netinstall

Any GUI for XCP?
Hello, I am trying/evaluating XCP to manage our virtualization servers. Now, I have installed it in a test server and as far as I can see, it is very similar to XenServer, but I can''t manage it with XenCenter graphical console. Is there any GUI for XCP? I could connect with OpenXenCenter, but it still isn''t mature to be useful. Or do I have to use with xe commands? -- Angel L. XCP French keymap problem
Hi everyone, has anyone succeded to get something else than plain qwerty keyboard layout on XCP? I have a French layout keyboard and I can''t get the mapping to be ok in the VMs, weither it be linux PV or windows HVM. I first tried with openxencenter (very good software by the way), then with the xcp xapi debug web page applet, then with ssh port forwarding, and I always get the same screwed up keyboard layout. On standard non XCP Xen, one can specify a VNC keymap in the configuration file (keymap=''fr''), but there is no su...

"virtualization state: tools not installed"
...to+install+XenServer+Tools+-+Linux XenServer and XCP have a lot things in common I thing. A few steps are different, but finally I installed the tools. After I reboot the VM, it still tells me "virtualization state: tools not installed", and I cannot see any "performance" int he OpenXenCenter. Any idea? Thanks. Bug#682979: xcp-xapi: VM not starting, tasks not cancellable
...figured for bridge, xenbrN are functioning and shown with xe network-list A single SR is present, created with ext on a local LVM. For debugging purposes, all ISO and local ISO SRs have been removed. A VM is created according to README.Debian. Everything looks fine when examined with XenManager6 or OpenXenCenter. When starting the VM with xe vm-start uuid=<uuid>, xe will not finish. xe task-list shows two tasks: VM.start with 0.300 progress, and VBD.unplug (0.000 progress) as a subtask of VM.start, created 16-17 seconds after VM.Start. Both tasks are in the state pending, and can not be cancelled w...

XCP GUI management
Xen List After planning for a year to move my Xen 3.4 classrooms to XCP I''m now making an effort. With the old system I wrote many lines of bash scripts around the xm command to group and manage my VMs. I used sudo to grant privileges for each student to start, stop, console into, reboot, and wipe their VMs without any interaction from me. Now with XCP I had the hope of moving to the
