I just saw that. I now have it so that it prints a few pages, then locks
up the printer. Funny, it worked just fine under CentOS5, now under CentOS
6, it won't? That's weird. Do you, or anyone else, have any

IPv6 link-local address support with Samba4
...ba4?
Further, by setting "bind interfaces only = no" in smb.conf, smbd listens
on IPv6 wildcard address. However, the point and print operation fails
using IPv6 link-local address. It throws up "Operation could not be
completed error 0x00000709" on the client. The smbd log says OpenPrinter
error.
_spoolss_OpenPrinterEx: Cannot open a printer handle for printer
\\<ipv6.linklocal.addr>.ipv6-literal.net
Is OpenPrinter suppose to work with IPv6 link local address on Samba4? This
used to work fine with Samba3.5.
Thanks,

I broke WINE plz help.
I changed this week to Ubuntu from winows 7.
I spent the last few days trying to get World of Warcraft to run. After tossing lots of code at this and days on the net I was able to get it to work using PlayOnLlinux and WINE.
Today...I thought I would work on getting my MS Office 2010 to install and work. I hosed every thing. Had MSXML issues and sorm rtpd4.dll file I had to down load and over

USB printer goes into disconnected state when low-power mode enabled
I've mentioned this before, here, but with a laser printer connected via
the lp0 port.
I have a new laser printer, a Brother HL2140, that normally works just
fine when installed using the CUPS interface per OpenPrinting's
instructions (with one minor modification I had to add because the base
driver without the CUPS installation did not work.
Every so often, which actually appears to be

Canon Printer Woe
Hi,
Has anyone had any success using a Canon LBP5300 with CentOS or any other RH
type os for that matter, using the rpms and intructions downloaded from the
Canon website? I have it working on XP and OS X both via USB and network but
am having no success with either on CentOS 5.4 . Print jobs seem to be
processed correctly by CUPS but the printer doesn't respond at all and the
jobs show

OT: Feedback Request: HP Laserjet MFD M3027x and Laserjet 2840 on Linux?
Hello all
Sorry for posting my query here, but did not have any success in getting
feedback from linuxprinting.org/ openprinting.org forums.
Planning to buy a new colour MFD or a Mono MFD & a Colour printer, for
small buisiness office use. Could someone give feedback on HP Laserjet
MFD M3027x and Laserjet 2840? Do all functions provided by the printers
work on Linux? Any kinks? Do

What to use on CentOS 6.2 w/ an Epson Stylus Photo 2200
Epson doesn't seem to have one; I see an rpm at openprinting.org, but that
.rpm d/l I started around 11:30 my time, and the d/l slowed, and slowed,
and it's been at 21% and "1 hr 17 min to go" for it seems like close to
half an hour. I d/l a tar.bz2, but I'm not sure I want to build and
install it - my use of this printer is temporary, and I want to be able to
uninstall it

LSB Certification
Hey All,
Could someone provide a URL to a page that states what LSB level
RHEL/CentOS 6.4 is certified to.
I'm looking to download a driver:
http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Epson/Epson-WorkForce_1100
They offer a driver for LSB 3.1 or LSB 3.2. I'm hoping that one of
those applies to CentOS 6.4.

[win2k] Epson777 "IT WORKS !!!!!"
Hello Family,
(smb.conf file attached)
Well I was here messing with the smb.conf file and don't ask me why
or how but here it is and it prints to the Epson777 Stylus
color inkjet with a "Edimax Mini Print Server" attached to the
back with a static IP from Windows2000.
The only slight quirk is that the "Epson Status Monitor" pops up

Samba closing printer prematurely?
Greetings Samba Users,
I have a strange issue. Adobe Reader can't print to a Samba
printer. It would be funny except it is happening to me....
Adobe Reader can't print PDF files to a true Adobe PS3 printer but GhostView can
print PDF files without any problems.
The printer in question is a Ricoh Aficio AP4510.
I tried Samba v3.0.11 and v3.0.20 and I get the same result, no

Cannot print on Centos 6.7
Hello everyone,
I have been scouring the Internet for answers, wikipages, non-Centos
pages, and I am stumped.
I have a HP LaserJet P4014n. When I plugged it in via USB cable, it found
it as a P4014, but in any case, it simply wouldn't print, so I deleted it,
and tried to start from scratch.
When I manually add the printer, it seems all is well, but it won't
print a test page. In my

printer trouble - missing driver?
I can't get my HP DeskJet D2345 (USB) to work on my CentOS 5.3 machine.
It'll work on another machine (with Fedora 7).
I compared the installation details (in CUPS http://localhost:631) -
seems that Cent does not have the driver. On the F7 machine, the device
is "D2345 (HP D2300 series)" and the driver is "HP DeskJet D2300
Foomatic/hpijs". When I try to config my

Hai Tomas,
And Marc thank for having a look also.
@ Tomas, now i think you setup is ok, but review it based on my setup below.
Now, i am using samba 4.6.8 here, but this is working as of 4.2.x.
There where a few small problems, i just cant recall exact what these where.
If you want to stay in the 4.5 line, then its an option to try my 4.5.14 package if needed.
I did some testing also, my

Printer recommendations
Since my old Epson C86 has finally managed to clog up the print heads,
I'm in the market for a replacement. I'd like to know what the people
on this list are using for printers that are currently available, since
we are using versions of CUPS and foomatic that are frozen, and any
other issues or "gotchas" that you are aware of.
For the replacement printer, I'm considering a
