selinux contexts for openntpd portable
I was wondering if someone could help with selinux context for the portable openntpd library on centos7. I compiled openntpd-6.0p1 and it runs great on centos7, but have not had much luck with selinux contexts for it. This is what I tried- semanage fcontext -a -t ntp_conf_t /usr/local/etc/ntpd.conf # seems to work semanage fcontext -a -t ntpd_exec_t /usr/local/sbin/ntpd # ge...

Variable scope: Class inheritance vs Include statement.
Hello. I''m a long time cfengine user, some might say sufferer, and I have finally managed to get around to experimenting with Puppet. So far I''m very impressed. I am trying to get puppet to configure the openntpd config file, from an ERB template, based on the node definition in the site config. What I''m trying to understand is why when I define a variable in a child class, the variable does not seem to be evaluated correctly in a ERB template that is defined in the parent class. If instead of inh...

Xen : Time issues
Hi everyone, I''m working in a firm that monitor wan networks. We have several nagios installed on virtual machines. Recently we noticed that the DomU''s clocks are not synced with the Dom0 and the clocks are wrong. So we tried to sync DomU''s via openntpd but it generates errors in nagios. Logs indicate "Time goes back". So we want to sync DomU with Dom0 and sync Dom0 with openntpd. What do you think about this solution ? Is there a way to sync DomU with Dom0 ? What is the best way to sync DomU''s ? Regards, Smaïn ______________...

Heavy clock drifts inside of KVM guests (qemu-kvm 2.1.2)

domU clock over 23s off
Hey, I have rather new installation of xen, dom0 is running ntpd and is perfectly in time. All domU''s are ~23s in future. Running ntpd on the domU''s seem to have no effect, /proc/sys/xen/independent_wallclock appears to have no effect. I''m running xen-unstable and 2.6.16-rc4 in AMD64 box. Any tip would be appricated. Thanks, -- ++ytti

IMAP server <defunct> (beta 7)
Hi, We've been using a 0.99 version of Dovecot for nearly a year without problems, but due to a server death I had to reinstall with the same configuration as before, but more recent versions of the software, on different hardware. This time though, every few days IMAP login and access fails, and the output of ps ax shows entries such as [imap-login] <defunct> and [imap]

I have a Dovecot installation on a Fedora 4. With the last update from Dovecot RC10 to Dovecot RC27, the daemon kills itself every night with this error: Mar 17 05:23:11 mail dovecot: Time just moved backwards by 6 seconds. This might cause a lot of problems, so I'll just kill m yself now. The error appears just after the night maintenance script executes a ntpdate syncronization ntpdate
